APRIL 14, 1971 LETTER TO THE EDITOR We had the pleasure last week, to visit the Terrace Bay High School during their open house. The facilities of the school, especially the shops, impressed us very much. The friendliness and cheer- fulness of the pupils and teachers made the tour most interesting. We would like to thank the pupils and teachers for having this open house and allowing us to visit their beautiful, well kept school . Mr. and Mrs. A. Berndtsson. R. CRESSMAN GUEST SPEAKER The Ladies Auxiliary of the Community Church met on Monday evening with Mrs. Barb Wise presiding. Mrs. Lil Harris read the Scripture and Mrs. Marilyn Chisholm played for the Hymn. Mrs. Pam Jones read the minutes and correspon- dence. A thank-you note was received from Wayside House for a recent donation. It was decided to make a $25.00 donation to the local branch of the Cancer Society. Mrs. Helmink, on behalf of the Association for the Mentally Retarded asked for good used stuffed toys. Mrs. Farrow gave the treasurer's report. Mrs. Lundberg reported on the success of the St. Patrick's Day Bridge Party, and thanked her co- workers and those - continued next column ..... TERRACE BAY MEN'S CURLING CLUB ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING Thursday, April 15, 7:00 p.m. : PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF TIME in the Curling Club Lounge «NOMINATION OF OFFICERS FOR 1971-72 SEASON?» ALL MEMBERS OF THE MEN'S CURLING CLUB ARE ASKED TO ATTEND THIS IMPORTANT MEETING. Mrs. Lundberg also gave a report on the sale of Praying Hands and Peace Pins and stated that through the good salesmanship of Mrs. Pam Jones and Diane, almost all the pins have been sold. A request was made to order 25 more Pray- ing Hand pins. Profit from the sale of these pins will be turned over to the Memorial Organ Fund. Mrs. Wise reminded the ladies of the forth coming Fashion Show and Luncheon to be held on April 17th, in the Church hall. Plans are well underway for this venture. He asked questions and opinions of the members and explained trends towards the Open Concept Schools, letting children advance at their own speed, and discipline in the class room, among other topics.
