PLAN DINNERS Members of the United Church Women made plans, at their regular April meeting to cater for anniversary dinner and reception, for a dinner for the Recreation Committee and for a dinner for the Presbytery. After some discussion it was decided to hold their regular May meeting on the fourth, starting at 7:30 p.m. when the Rev. Beattie of the Bible Society will be present to address the group. Mrs. Oscar Niemi, sewing convener, presented a substantial sum to the treasurer and stated two more quilts have been completed. Mrs. Della Moore, card secretary, reported sending many cards for various purposes. Mrs. Beth Macadam carried out the Least Coin collection. : Minutes and financial statement were accepted as read by Mrs. June Dukes and Mrs. Margaret Spillane. Mrs. Wilelmina Prinselaar presided for the meeting taking the devotional period with an Easter theme. REBEKAH TEA SUCCESSFUL Mrs. Mary Legault, Mrs. Sadie Boyd, Mrs. Jessie Macadam and Mrs. Ethel Smitherman were the servers at the Ruby Rebekah Lodgey Spring tea, a most successful project. Receiving were Mrs. B. Macadam, novel grand; Mrs. G. Hamilton, vice grand and Mrs. Mavis Slater, warden of the Rebekah Assembly of Ontario. Mrs. Agnes Bryson sold tickets on a cake = won by Mrs. Jessie Macadam and the tea table centre piece won by Mrs. Jean Crook. Mrs. Chris Morris was in charge of the baking table; Mrs. Helen Wallace was cashier and the door prize was won by Mrs. Andy Miller. de The tables were served by Mesdames Connie Martin, Marion Simon, Eirene Harness, Alice Sparkes, Lilyan Christie, Jean Fischer and Earline Johnson. Replenishing were Mesdames Lil Harris, Edith lbey, Annie Niemi, Helen D'Arcy, Della Moore and Miss Irene Spicer. JOHN'S TO SPONSOR CHOIR St. John Ambulance, Schreiber, are sponsoring the University of Western Ontario choir, some forty voice, in concert in the Schreiber High School auditorium on Tuesday, May 4th. The choir, under the direction of Professor Gordon Greene, offers a varied program of contemporary and classical music. : The choir members are students of diverse faculties of the University and its affiliated colleges.
