MEETING Sister Marvel Belfry, principal of Holy Angels separate school congratulated Patricia McGrath, who after being successful at the school level in the public speaking contest sponsored by the Ontario Hydro, had gone on to win in marathon and on Friday goes on to the higher level in Thunder Bay. Patricia's subject was "Drugs, the Teenager and Parents". Sister iviarvel also announced the winners in essay and poem competition sponsored nationally by the Royal Canadian Legion. Bill Campbell, presided and thanked Father Cano for his encouragement and support of the C.P.T.A. wishing him happiness in his new parish. The members were delighted when by sheer chance Father Cano won the door prize. "Mr. Campbell said the students had enjoyed the film "The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes". TOWN TOPICS Jim Pounder of the Regional library was here on Tuesday when the public library committee made an exchange of books and paintings. The committee were pleased with improved lighting in the bus and appreciated the help of some young people who carried books from the van into the library. The exchange, despite the work, has come to be a 'fun-occasion' when members try by stealth, to get more books in their selection than the count calls for. Anne Noonan of Toronto is visiting her purents, Mr, and irs. Jack Noonan. Vincent Cosgrove, of Chapleau, spent the weekend here with his brother Austin and family, visiting also others in the Cosgrove relations. Vincent has been transferred by the C.P.R. to Calgary, effective March 1st. . The Schreiber Group of Alcoholics Anonymous held a most successful meeting, to which the public were invited, on February 19th in St. John's Anglican Church hall. In addition to local citizens and clergy from several places, there was a large attendance from other centres. The evening ended with a lunch and visiting hour. Now is the time!
