TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 19 MARCH 4, 1971 SCHREIBER DETACHMENT WEEKLY REPORT On February 22, 1971, Constable C.R. Duffy seized a quantity of liquor at the Schreiber Arena resulting in a Red Rock resident being charged under Sec. 42(1) of the Liquor Control Act. A 3 ton truck and contents was extensively damaged by fire near Rossport on February 25, 1971. The vehicle was owned by Turcotte Painting Ltd., Thunder Bey. No injuries to driver. Investigsted by Consteble J.C. Bosley. On the traffic scene three collisions were investigated by detachment personel resulting in approximately $800.00 da- mage. A one cer collision was investigated by Consteble G.,V. Lapworth on February 26, 1971, 2 miles west of Prairie River Bridge involving Michael Bescon of 12 Wenonah Drive, Mani- touwadge. On February 27, Constable C.R. Duffy investigated a two cer collision one mile east of Schreiber involving Kenneth Falcon of 1332 Roy Ave,, Sudbury and Joseph Melchers of 57 Warbler Drive, Manitouwadge. No injury to either driver. Vehicles were driven from the scenes. One driver was charged for operating his vehicle left of the centre line. Consteble S.R. RUBY REBEKAH MEETING Ruby Rebekah Lodge, Schreiber at their February 24th meeting decided to send a donation to the March In Dime Time - a special fund to help finance the projects of the International Association of Rebekah Assemblies. This donation was made to mark February as Educational Foundation Month. The decision regarding the educational fund of the Rebekah Assembly was held over for a further meet- ing. : It was decided to make a quilt to use as a draw prize, with Mrs. avis Slater volunteering to supply the material required and other members offering to do the sewing. A bake sale was planned, to follow the meeting on March 10th. irs. Christine iviorris, after giving the sick and visiting report, was asked to send a card and gift to vr. Bill Smith a patient in the chronic care ward of the Vancouver General hospital . Mrs. Victoria Winters thanked her committee and others who had assisted at the recent card party.
