A letter from a local resident relative to the by- law restricting times of driving snow machines was received and acknowledged. In answer to a request from the Terrace Bay Figure Skating Club to place an ad in their program for their annual ice show to be held March 12th and 13th, they were informed that this would be taken up with the proper department. The Schreiber-Terrace Bay District Roman Catholic Separate School Board made a request for taxation on their behalf from Separate School supporters. Due to the late arrival of final 1970 assessment roll, their will be a delay in issuing 1971 interim tax bills. A resolution was passed authorizing an interim levy of seven mills. These bills should be in the mail approximately March 12th, with the date payable, March 26th. The Police Department will be asked to supervise the crossing in the absence of one of the guards. Mr. Jack Devine, of the Department of Tourism, advised that he would be in this area on March 24th, and would be pleased to meet with Council and the Chamber of Commerce. Considerable discussion took place regarding edu- cation in this area and in particular, recent suggest= ions for changes in the High School. Further infor- mation has been requested.
