PAGE 138 TERRACE BAY NEWS FEBRUARY 13,1971 The Anglican Church Women, at their February meeting, agreed unanimously not to do any catering during the months July and August, when most are either away on holidays or entertaining guests, thus leaving the burden on a very few. Arrangements were made for the Women's Day of Prayer, to be held in St. John's Church this year on March 5th. Final plans were made for the lunch=in on Febru- ary 19th. It was decided to donate some chairs to the Ross- port Recreation Centre. Mrs. Reg Bailey, presided for the meeting with the minutes and treasurer's report accepted as read by Mrs. Bob Ellicott and Mrs. Jack Bryson. Members of the Ruby Rebekah Lodge, at the meet- ing on February 10th agreed to lend their dishes, coffee urn and card tables to the Eastern Star Lodge for their card party on March 12th in the Schreiber town hall, but not to lend such equipment for events held outside of the hall. Members asked to donate to the penny auction being arranged in March by the C.P.T. committee. A catalogue with price lists was received from the Dominion Regalia Co. from which a flagpole and stand had recently been ordered. Several thank you notes were read by the vice grand and members present thanked their Unknown Friends for valentine gifts and cards. Mrs. Beth Macadam, nobel grand and Mrs. Jean Fisher, vice grand, were in charge of the meeting. U.C.W. MEETING Members of the United Church Women, at their February meeting were asked to donate to the delicatessen being given by the official church board on February 20th, starting at 3 p.m. A shamrock tea was planned for March 13th. Mrs. Norma Fummerton, who presided , advised members that the World Day of Prayer will be held this year in St. John's Anglican Church on March Sth at 7:30 p.m. Notice was received of a seminar on alcoholism and drug addiction which will be held in Marathon on February 18-1%th. Mrs. Helen Sharp wrote asking that names of deceased members be sent to her . Love, Live and Learn will be the theme of the presbytery meeting being held in Knox United Church, Thunder Bay on February 23rd, with the Rev. Ken Moffatt as guest speaker. Mrs. E.C. Prinselaar, Mrs. Wesley Clemens and Mrs. Russell Macadam and Mrs. Fummerton will attend this. It was agreed to cater for a wedding dinner on July 10th. Mrs. Lilyan Christie reported sending twenty-one cards during the month... It was decided to add a large kettle, to augment the eléctric one for the kitchen supplies. There was alively didcussion on the matter of ca catering for dinners etc during the summer recess when the ranks of members are greatly depleted due to vacation time. No decision was made and there was a suggestion to confer with other women's church groups on this and other aspects of catering. Mrs. Prinselaar read the passage from the Scriptures describing the church as one body with many parts. The Anglican Church women were welcomed as guests at the meeting. The minutes of the last meeting and the financial statement were adopted as read by Mrs. June Dukes and Mrs. Margaret Spillane. Following the meeting a film on retardation, "Our Responsibility " was shown with Mrs. F.A. Helmink giving an introduction and discussing the subject. Mrs. Bill Lidkea, Mrs. Norman McCuaig, Mrs. § Ken Davis and Mrs. George Riley were in Thunder Bay on February 8th to mark Mrs. Henry Davis' birthday with a dinner party. All books from the public library, from the Regional library shelves must be returned before February 23rd.
