Fischer, presided and the minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read by the secretary, Mrs. H. Jartus. The treasurer's report was adopted as read by the treas- urer, Mr. R. Grant. A letter from the newly-formed Rossport Recrea- rion Committee was read asking for any used tables and chairs, also dishes, etc. The youth groups will also paint or repair any usable equipment. If anyone has any equipment which can be used for this purpose, pick-up can be arranged by phoning any of the following: Mrs. G. Fischer, Mrs. H. Jartus in Schreiber or Mrs. C. Wilde in Rossport. It was also planned to hold a bake sale in the school at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 4th to assist the Rossport Center Library. Conveners are Mrs. E. Glad and Mrs. C. Wilde They would appreciate all baking to be turned in by 6:45 p.m. Mr. Saumur was in charge of the programme for the evening and demonstrated the use of the new Video-Tape-Recording Equipment, and he had many of the parents on "Candid Camera" as they entered the school, unbeknown to them, which provided some amusement when they saw themselves on T.V. He described the use of the equipment in the regular classroom and three classes were shown in action. Each teacher then gave a report on the value of this equipment to him and how it helped him to evaluate himsglf and also the students. Many impor tant programmes on education can be taped and us-- ed at convenient times by the classes. It will also serve as an effective workshop method for the teachers. The next regular meet ing will be Thursday, March 4th at 8 p.m. with parent-teacher visitation as usual . A guest speaker from Thunder Bay has been invit- ed to attend this meeting and an announcement will be made as soon as confirmation is received. An informal coffee hour was held following the meeting. Maurice G. Cataford, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Cataford, of Schreiber has been appointed chief estimator in the Estimating and Cost Depart- ment by the Stone and Webster Engineering Corp. in Boston, Mass. Mr. Cataford joined Stone and Webster's Canadian subsidiary in 1951 as field en- gineer.
