TOWN TOPICS FILM TO BE SHOWN AT AUXILIARY MEETING The Ladies' Auxiliary of the Community Church will hold their regular meeting on Monday night, February Ist, at 8:15 P.M, Mrs. Peggy Helmink will be the guest speaker and will show a film on Mental Retardation. All ladies of the Community are invited to attend and please bring old Christmas cards, which will be used by Mentally Retarded children in various pro- jects. Used stamps will also be appreciated. BADGES AWARDED BY GUIDE COMPANY The First Terrace Bay Guide Company awarded several badges at their last regular meeting. Receiving their Second Class badges were Valerie Szpak, Diane Jones, Carla Crockford, Cathy Weberg and Charlene Nesbitt. Swimmers Badge: - Carol Bouchard, Leigh Anne McBride and Cathy Weberg . Under the direction of Mrs. Edna Ramsay, for Child Care, badges were awarded to Isle Smith, Leigh Anne McBride, Sheenah Cald- Irene Kettle and Mrs. well and Valerie Szpak. Taught by Mrs. Barbara Wise, Home Nursing badges were awarded to Linda Dejonghe, Nancy Bouchard and Sheena Caldwell and Sheena also won her Cooking Badge. Lieutenant Sharon Brown has been teaching First Aid and Lieutenant Leontyne Cormier is training fo take the post of Captain. TALENT NIGHT HELD AT LEGION HALL The Ladies Auxiliary. to the Royal Canadian Legion sponsored a Talent Night in the Legion Hall on Satur- day evening, starting at 9.00 P.M. The local talent played to a full house and most appreciative audience. Mrs. Jeanette Gunter was Master of Ceremonies. The first guest she introduced was Bill Megraw who played a solo on a piccolo. Beth Neely, accompanied by Len Pineault and Howie Cook, sang "I'll Be Lonesome When Your're Gone. " , Dave Gunter played the violin = "Maple Sugar,' with Len Pineault and Howie Cook for accompaniment | Legion President Pat Jones, earned a round of applause with his renditions of "You Are My Ponpine: and I've Got a Lovely Bunch of Cocoanuts, " which the entire - Continued on Page 4
