DECEMBER 10, 1970 TERRACE BAY NEWS TO THE RESIDENTS OF TERRACE BAY, SCHREIBER, ROSSPORT Representatives of the Department of Treasury and Economics will conduct a Public Meeting in our area to review. the recent policy recommendations as con-= tained in the Northwestern Ontario Report "Design for Development". : This meeting will be the first of a number to be held throughout the Northwest over the next year fo try to stimulate growth and will cover such related subjects as; Secondary Industry, Access Roads, Trans portation, Tourism, Government Buildings, Pollu- tion, efc. We would hope for a good turnout of Township Council, Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Labour, interested organizations and general public. For our commitment of $40,000.00 which will be recovered in a very few years through in- creased assessment, we will have a real acquisition to our town. 7. At the request of Council, the Ontario Hydro- Electric Commission prepared a revised retail rate structure applicable to our customers which resulted in the change over from the flat rate to a special hot water block of KWHrs at a reduced rate for water heating.
