A number of expensive floodlights on the control structure at Hays Lake were shot out, and two storage buildings were riddled with .22-calibre bullets. One of the storage buildings has at least 50 holes in it, according to A. "Scotty" Wallace of Hydro security. This type of vandalism costs the power users of Ontario many thousands of dollars annually and, in this case, did not those who commited these needless acts ever think there could have been some- one in the buildings at the time! If a Hydro employee had been working in there, a charge of vandalism could easily have changed to murder . The vandalism is presently being investigated. A WARNING AGAINST USE OF GASOLINE FOR CLEANING A warning against the use of gasoline as a clean- ing fluid, particularly for boat motors at this time of year, has been issued by Labour Minister Dalton Bales. Last year, there were nine accidents in which four persons were badly burned and property damage to- talled $169,000. Mr. Bales said the Energy Branch which recently became a part of the Department of Labour, was launching a campaign to acquaint the public about the hazards of using gasoline as a cleaner or solvent.
