Deputy Govenor William Maydo was present to install the fol- lowing Kinsmen officers: Past President - Jim Figliomeni; President ~ Michael Cosgrove; Vice-President ~ Bev, Stewart; Secretary - Michmel Reid; Treasurer - Ron Wood; Editor - Michael Reid and directors - Bob Cressman, Arnold O'Keefe and Neil Truman, The installation of the Kinette Officers was as follows: Past President - Diane Figliomeni; President - Diane Figlio- meni; First Vice-President - Maureen Phillips; Second Vice- President - Joyce Reid; Treasurer - Nancy Wood; Secretary - Beulah Speziele and Editor ~ Mavis Godin. Several members of the local Kinsmen Club indicated that they would be travelling to Nipigon on November 8th to at- tend the Fall Zone Conference. On Saturday, November 28th, the Kinsmen Club of Schreiber will provide area adult citizens with the opportunity of watching the Grey Cup Game on colour television, a "coloured set" will be situated in the Schreiber Town Hall. A cribbage tournament will be held for those people who are willing to watch the game "out of the corner of one eye". Refreshments will be served and dancing will take place in the evening. The annual Kinsmen Peanut Blitz will take place on Novem- ber 30th and December 1st, Kingo Cards will be available throughout the fortheoming months at four grocery stores in Schreiber and Terrace Bay. : Funds raised from the three aforementioned projects will be used to assist the Curling Club of Schreiber; support the Artificial Ice Fund; subsidize the local Cubs and Scouts and to finance several other worthwhile ventures. the Minor Hockey Fund by sponsoring President Michael Cosgrov in the Schreiber Skate-a-thon for five dollars an hour. After the meeting held in the Schreiber Curling Club, social hour was held at the home of Kin Pat Conley. RUBY REBEKAH LODGE. Noble Grand, Mrs. Beth Macadam and Vice Grand, Mrs, Gladys Hamilton presided over the regular meeting of Ruby Rebekah Lodge on October 28th, Several birthday and get well cards had been sent by the Vice Grand, One member was reported 111 at home. © Mrs, Alice Sparkes gave the financial report and Mrs. Helen Wallace reported on cards and also read a letter from a mem- ber living in Toronto. An invitation was received from Agate Rebekah Lodge in Thunder Bay to attend their officers! Tea on November 24th, and birthday party on December Yth, Thank you letters were received from Mrs. Mary Nazvesky PDDP and also the Schreiber Oddfellows Lodge, Mrs. Gladys Hamilton reported plans were complete for the Officers' Tea in the Town Hall on November 7th. After the business meeting the members enjoyed a Hallowe'en social and card party. Prizes for best fancy costume went to Mrs. Eirene Harness and comic costume to Mrs. Bern Whent. Winners in cards were Mrs, Beth Macadam for high score and Mrs, W. Clemens for consolation, Lunch was served by a com- mittee in charge being Mrs, Florence Fischer. : After the next meeting on November 11th, there will be a Bring and Buy Sale. TO HOLD CHRISTMAS TEA AND BAZAAR At the November meeting of the C.W.L. the following con- venors gave their report:- Mrs. Lil Gagnon for the Chris- tian Family Life reported '"The Focus on Hope", a seven week adult course starting at the Parish Centre, Tuesday November 10th at 7.30 P.M. Mrs, Irene Borutski, Social Action, reminded each member to save 1% of money they spent on luxuries for 1969-70 and send to Canada Catholic Organi- zation for Development and Peace; Mrs. Helen Stokes, Cul- tural Life spoke on the wonderful turnout of youth and the success 'of their Rally at the Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto, of the Separate School Program to Grade 13, The Guide and Brownie convenor thanked the C.W.L. for catering to their banquet and the ten new members had been enrolled. Mrs. Teresa Powers, Social, Economic and Civie Life reported on visits to the sick and shwt-ins. Members are asked to save Canada Packer Labels for much needed kitchen supplies, Tickets are now available for the C.W.L. Christmas Tea and Bazear which will be held in the Town Hall, November 25th from 2,30 - 5.00 p.m. All members are asked to purchase and bring a child's "GOLDEN BOOK" to the December meeting. Following the business meeting, the C.W.L. proceeded to Terrace Bay for a special joint meeting with St. Martin's CJW.L. emblems and badges, The bake sale held by the Schreiber Cubs and Scouts held on November 6th, in Chapples Store, was a huge success thanks to the co-operation of the many people in town who are interested in the boys.
