TURKEY BONSPIEL: - The opening mixed "Turkey Bonspiel " is scheduled for this weekend, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, November 13, 14, 15th. The bar will be open Friday evening and from noon Saturday until midnight. A "Social" will be held in the Lounge Saturday evening. CLUB SALES: = The Curling Club has for sale a number of items which will be of interest to curlers. Sweaters = $25.00; Crests=Heavy - $3.50, Light - $1.00; Pins - $2.50; Brooms - $6.00. BRANCH 223, LEGION NEWS At the Armistice Banquet, Saturday, November 7th, the draw for the snow machine was made, the winner being Len Swirhun of Terrace Bay. The highlight of the evening was the presentation of a gigantic cheque for $1,000, which was pre- sented by Mrs. D. Ballentine, President of the Ladies Auxiliary, to Mr. G. Churney, Branch President. Installa- tion of officers will be held December 11th, 1970. The Branch at this time, would like to thank Mrs. Marsh, the former editor of the local News Paper, for the wonderful co-operation she has given the Legion in the past. We would also like to thank all those who at- tended the services at the Cenotaph recently. This year's parade had one of the finest turnouts in re- cent years. To the Scouts, Cubs, Girl Guides, Brownies and the four Guards at the Cenotaph from the Navy League, thank you for making this such a successful venture. The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 223, Terrace Bay, expresses their thanks to everyone who bought tickets on the raffle for a Snow Machine. They are pleased to announce that Len Swirhun, North Camp, held the lucky ticket. Proceeds will go towards the annual Snow Machine races in February. SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS PLAN NEW IDEAS The Community Church Sunday School has been re-structured in an attempt to make it more appealing and interesting to all age groups. Children up to and including Grade 4 are in- vited to come at 11 o'clock. Grade 5 and up ore in- vited to come at 9 o'clock a.m. Teachers are planning to have more action groups rather than structured classes, hoping to get the children more involved. Parents, do encourage your children to come out to Sunday School . For next Sunday only, the students of Grade 5 and up, who would like to bring breakfast to the Sunday School, may do so, starting at 8.30. The others will attend at the usual time of 9.30 a.m. The Children's Christmas Choir will meet at the Church on Thursday at 4.00 p.m. for practice. JUNIOR HOCKEY = by E.
