Before coming to Schreiber, Mr. Pokorny taught for two years at Sioux Lookout and for one year at New Liskeard. Mr. Pokorny enjoys outdoor sports and chess. He plans on remaining in Northwestern Ontario. We, at Schreiber High, hope that he and his wife will enjoy living here. Teams Travel Via Kimberly-Clark Road On Wednesday, October 28th, the volleyball teams travelled to Nip Rock by bus. The boys competition between Schreiber and Terrace Bay had to be cancelled when word was received of washouts - on the highway between Red Rock and Nipigon. Accommodation was arranged for the teams at Nip- igon, as Highway 17 was flooded in several places. On Thursday morning, highway 17 was still impassable, and it appeared that the students would not be able to reach home that day. However, due to the excellent co-operation of mill officials, the school bus travelled to Longlac where they were permitted to use Kimberly-Clark's private road to Terrace Bay. The trip proved beneficial to the students and teachers involved, as the Kimberly-Clark woodlands operation was explained to them during the trip. Appreciation is extended to all those involved with the safe return of the teams.
