PAGE 14 TERRACE BAY NEWS NOVEMBER 5, 1970 ORLESKY-PIDLUZNY VOWS EXCHANGED Yellow and white mums adorned the Terrace Bay Community Church when Linda lorraine Pidluzny became the bride of Bill Orlesky, on September 26, 1970. Reverend E. Prinselaar officieted at the double ring ceremony with Mrs. M. Simmer at the organ. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a formal peau de soie gown with lace overlay and matching detachable lace train falling from the shoulders. The lace sleeves came to a lily point at the wrists. Her pearl tiera held her shoulder length silk illusion veil. She carried a cascade of red Sweetheart roses and fern with white streamers. The matron of Honour, Edythe Cosgrove, Schreiber, wore a peacock blue chiffon over taffeta empire gown with gold braid at the waistline and collar. The bridesmaid, Kathy Pidluzny (sister of the bride) wore a rose pink chiffon over taffeta empire gown with white daisies at the waistline and coller. Both wore bows in their hair, matching the colour of their gowns and carried a single mum tipped to mateh the gowns. The best man was John Geddes, Thunder Bay and Geore Orlesky, Jr. (brother of the groom) ushered. At a Masonic Hall reception, the bride's mother received in an Ivory A-Line dress with roll collar and gold buttons at the waist and wrists, and navy accessories. She wore a corsage of pink sweetheart roses. The groom's mother chose a burgundy street length dress with beige accessories and a corsage of yellow Sweetheart roses. The bride's godfather, Bob Williams proposed a toast to the bride and Mrs. Brenda Landry circulated the guest book. : Leaving for a two week honeymoon to points west, including Winnipeg and Prince Albert, the bride wore a pele green pant suit with white lace trimmed blouse and brown accessories with a corsage of red Sweetheart roses. Out of town guests included Mr. and Mrs. George Orlesky, George Jr., and Stephen, Mr. John Geddes, Mr. and Mrs. W. Fehr (aunt and uncle of the bride), Mr. and Mrs. Paul Pidluzny (bride's aunt and uncle), Mr. and Mrs. Paul Pidluzny, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Rick Landry and Miss Liz Dobush, all of Thunder Bay; Mr. and Mrs. Ab Melander, David, Weyne and Richard ef Ignace, Ont. (the groom's aunt and uncle), Mr. and Mrs. Mike Cosgrove, Mr. and Mrs. W. Tuck, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Nesbitt and Miss Debbie Lidkea, all of Schreiber. L.A. PRESENTED NEW SLATE OF OFFICERS The L.A. to Guides and Brownies held their mget- ing October 26th. The meeting, chaired by Mrs. S. Caron, was opened with the Guide prayer. Minutes of the previous meeting were read by the Secretary, and the treasurer report was given. After the conveners gave their various reports, the annual reports were read by all the conveners. and Blue and Brown Guiders. The Brownie packs have been combined due to : a fewer number of Brownies being enrolled. Brown= ies now meet on Tuesday and Thursday . A new slate of officers for the L.A. was presented Chairman = Commissioner S. Caron; Vice=chairman = Deputy Commissioner C. Cvitkovich; Secretary = G. Moore; Treasurer = Y. Rajotte; Blue Badge - Edna Ramsay; Brown Badge - R. McBride; Ways and Means = T. Melynk; Publicity = A. McKie; Cookie Day - J. Desrosiers; Social = S. Dorman; Camping Convener = B. Bouchard; Registration = |. Kettle. Lunch was served by Y. Rajotte and M. Stephen. BROWNIES HOLD FLY-UP Brownies from the Ist, 2nd and 3rd Terrace Bay Brownie Pack held their fly up October 19th, in the basement of St. Martin's Church. Brownies formed a double Brownie Ring and the Guides formed a horse shoes and presented the colours. Brownies flying up were given a large golden key which was used to open large locks allowing them to enter Guideland. As each Brownie opened the lock which was held by a Patrol leader, she was welcomed into Guides and introduced to the various leaders . After the ceremony Mrs. Caron welcomed all the mothers and fathers. Coffee and cookies was then served by the Rangers. To end a wonderful evening Brownies and Guides entertained with Campfire. Parents joined in the sing song. The two Guide Companys have been combined to form one company and they meet on Tuesday night in the basement of St. Martin's Churc h. .
