KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS HOST CONFERENCE The Knights of Columbus, 3554, Terrace Bay were hosts for a Regional Conference for District 29, on September 26th and 27th, held in St. Martin's Church Hall. The guest speaker for the banquet, held in the Moose Hall, was Bishop Norman Gallagher, of the Fort William Diocese. Bishop Gallagher's subject was Truth. Delegates came from Fort Frances, White River, Kenora, Dryden, Sioux Lookout, Red Rock, Nipigon, Geraldton, Marathon and Thunder Bay North and South. Master of Ceremonies for the banquet was Pat Guina, of Schreiber. The conference was chaired by District Deputy Rolly Sinotte, D.D. for District 29. Guests at the Head Table were Bishop 'Gallagher, Father A. Gvora, of St. Martin's, who said Grace, Father Cano, Schreiber; Father Bourguignon, Thunder Bay South; Reeve and Mrs. Cavanaugh, Terrace Bay; Aurel Gauthier, representing Schreiber Council; Grand Knight Ben Lapenskie and Mrs. Lapenskie; Jack Stokes, M.P.P. and Mrs. Stokes; and District Deputy Rolly Sinotte and Mrs. Sinotte . Jack Stokes, M.P.P., was the guest speaker at the breakfast held in the Terrace Bay Motor Hotel on Sunday morning. Out of town ladies were served a luncheon at the Community Church Hall Sunday noon, prepared by Mrs. D. Broadhurst, Mrs. G. Soughton and Mrs. A. Farrow. A dance was held in the Moose Hall, following the banquet on Saturday night, with music supplied by Lionel Hubelit and his Mellow Tunes, of Wawa. The conference was deemed to be very successful by those who attended. Bishop celebrated Mass at St. Martin's Church on Sunday morning. GUSUL TROPHY REMAINS WITH TERRACE BAY LEGION AUXILIARY All good things come in threes and that is the belief of the Legion Auxiliary Branch number 223 when they took the Gusul Trophy in a Shuffleboard Tournament on Saturday. : On behalf of Harry Gusul, president Dot Bal lenting presented the trophy to Jeanette Gunter and Yvonne LeClair who emerged as the champs in the sudden death play.
