CHRISTMAS BAZAAR DATE SET The Anglican Church Women, at their regular September meeting set the date for their Christmas bazaar and tea for November 21st, from 3 = 5.30 p.m in the town hall. Turkey patties will be served and there will be a coor prize. The sewing boath will offer fine sewing in many varieties. All women in the congregation will be contacted to assist with the sewing. Plans were made for a Halloween supper to be held on October 24th, from 5 = 7 p.m. in the church hall. Homebaked beans, cabbage rolls, and chili will be served with buns, tea and coffee. Mrs. Hazel Bailey, president, welcomed the mem- bers back after the summer recess. Mrs. Inga Ellicott read the minutes and Mrs. Flora Bryson gave the financial report. CATHOLIC WOMEN'S LEAGUE FIELD DAY Due to the inclement weather the Catholic Women's League Field Day had to be held in the arena. But all events, including the races were carried on successfully. There were the usual food booths, for snacks, home baking, a fishpond for the youngsters and bingo. Winners in the races were: 50 yard dash, girls and boys é and 7 - Brenda Bottomley, Linda Ross, Gordie McKenzie and Steven Speziale. Girls and boys 8 - ? = Tracey Wainikka, Cathy Mulligan, Lawrence Girls and boys 10 - 11 = Louise Morin, Shirley Ross, Peter Armstrong. and Bruce Hiller. Girls and boys 12 and over = Brenda Spencer, Karen Brown, Billy Souliere and Paddy Stokes. There were also wheelbarrow, three legged and duck waddle races. Janet Lengyel won the money tree event. EDWARD GEROW HONOURED ON 90TH BIRTHDAY Edward (Eddy) Gerow, was honoured by his family on his 90th birthday at a dinner party held in the home of his daughter, Bernice, Mrs. Ivor Jacomb.
