The girl must be seven years old by September 30 and registration fee of $2.00 must be paid when registering. Mrs. Rose Halonen has consented to take charge of the Guides but additional help is required and vol- unteers may contact her . In regard to uniforms information can be had on registering, or by calling Mrs. Y. Beauparlant. Opening date for Brownies and Guides is planned for the third week in September. A letter was sent to Mr. Harold Shack, secretary of the Parish Lay Council, requesting three meeting nights for one Guide and two Brownie Packs. The Guide and Brownie Mother and Daughter ban- quet was planned for October. SHACK-FINK VOWS EXCHANGED The marriage of Harold Edward Shack, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Shack, of Schreiber and Mary Catherine Fink, only * daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Fink, of Eden Valley, Minn. , was solemnized by Father John Pringing in Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Eden Valley on July ITth, ~ Mrs, Joe Wartman was organist. The bride given in marriage by her parents, chose an ivory satin gown, empire mode, with silk organza over-skirt. The sequined bolero jacket was finished with peter pan collar and long sleeves. The long train wes rounded and her full length veil caught by ea tiara of sequins. Her bouquet was red roses and stephanotis. Mrs. Ronald Fink was matron of honour and the bridesmaids were Miss Mary Lynch and Miss Brenda Cebrario of Schreiber. They wore similar gowns of empire style with A-line skirts . of linen under organza, with flower lace irim on the bodice seams, They were differing colors of pale yellow, peach and pastel green and they carried coloniel bouquets of car- nations in golors matcning their gowns. Giovanni Cebrario of Schreiber was best man and ushers 'were Gary and Ronald Fink) A reception was held at Litchfield Colf Club, the bride's mother wearing a street length beige knit suit, with gold accessories and corsage of peach tea roses. ' The groom's mother, who assisted in receiving chose a street length green lace dress. with corsacze of yellow roses. For a wedding trip to Clear Leke, Man. the bride donned a sleeveless dress in peach crepe with drawstring belt and brown accessories. Mr. and Mrs, Shack will reside in Schreiber. Relatives and friends from Nessau, Bahamas, Thunder Bay and Schreiber attended the wedding, On their return to Schreiber, Mrs. Sheck Sr. gave a reception in honour of Mrs. Herold Shack when many friends called to meet and welcome the bride to her new home. The regular meeting of the Women's. Institute has been postponed from September 8th to September 15th. District officers will be guests at this meet- ing and a potluck supper will be served. TOWN TOPICS Mr. and Mrs. Leo Aber of Saulte Ste. Marie yisit- ed George Duncan, Mrs. Aber's father, last week. Twenty friends met in Mrs. Tony Cenerelli's home to give her a farewell party before she left Schreiber with her husband for a new home in Kitchener. Gifts of pottery and lingerie were presented in token of their good wishes. The hostesses who arranged the party were Mrs. Lilian Parent, Mrs. Edmond Nicol and Mrs. Yvan Beauparlant. Mrs. Lester McCuaig and granddaughter D'Arcy Trowsse spent the weekend in Atikokan with Mr. and Mrs. Chal McCuaig. Mr. and Mrs. Cal Alexander and family of Fro--- bisher Bay visited with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Furlonger this week. Mr. and Mrs. Mel Ralph of Thunder Bay visited Mr. and Mrs. Ray Cook and other relatives this week. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Stefurak are accompanying their daughter Barbara and Mary Speziale to London where the girls will enrol in Western University. Mrs. Herb Gellert is holidaying in Sioux Lookout with her sister and family. There will be a come and go tea in honour of Mrs. Jessie Macadam on Thursday, September 10th; in the United Church hall from 8 - 10 p.m. Miss Dale Sisson has returned home after spending the summer in Carnarvon and Clarkson. ; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Morris of Stratford are visiting Russell Nesbitt and camping at Ross Lake. Miss Muriel Nesbitt was in Sault Ste. Marie over the weekend attending a wedding. i Lloyd Small accompanied his daughter June to Toronto where she has enrolled in Ryerson Technical Institute in a three year course in business administra- tion. - . Mr. and Mrs. D.J. Brown are holidaying in Toronto Daryl Lynn Weaver was one of the bridesmaids at the Turner-Smith wedding in Manitouwadge. Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Weaver also attended the wedding. Mr. and Mrs. Lou Karns, with Cheryl and Kim were in Toronto to attend the wedding of their daughter, Mary Lou and Leonard Gaudet. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Cook are accompanying their daughter Marilyn and Shirley Winters to Hamilton where the girls are enrolling in McMaster University. Cathy Stokes attended the recent folk festival in Dryden. Mrs. Forbes Macadam visited her granddaughter Mrs. AR. Dejeete in Waterloo for her holiday. lan Macadam is presently visiting Mr. and Mrs. Dejeete.
