HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY SHOW SATURDAY At a recent meeting, plans for the Terrace Bay Horticultural Society's 1970 Annual Flower and Vegetable Show, which will be held on Saturday, August 22, were completed. Judging this years' show will be Mr. Walter Chomniak of Thunder Bay. Tentative plans were being made to have a series of one-day workshops in different areas of North- western Ontario with the Ontario Department of Agriculture and Food Nursery Specialist participat- ing. Members who have special subjects they wish information on should contact the local board of directors, so that a schedule can be drawn up. "Trillium Awares" will be used this year to recog- nize efforts (Cont'd on page 4) matters; student and financial awards and assistance | These topics, and any others which confront students, may be explored in individual counselling sessions . The Counselling Services are arranging a series of small discussions in many Northwestern Ontario centres for people anticipating making application to Lakehead University. In these sessions, poten=- tial and even present students will be able fo raise questions about Lakehead University require= ments, the various programs offered by the Univer- sity, adjustment to university studies and other matters of concern. It is anticipated that the sessions will be set up once, and will last only a short time. Participation is voluntary. Donald Evans, Student Counsellor and represen- tative of the Students' Awards Officer will be in Terrace Bay on Monday, August 24. Those inter- ested can attend sessions in the Recreation Centre, Room 2, between the hours of 2 a.m. = 5 p.m., or see Mr. Evans at the Imperial Motel between 7 p.m and 9 p.m. in the evening of that same day. This service is being offered by Lakehead Univer- sity for the first time and is, we believe, the only program of this type (Cont'd on page 4)
