AUGUST 20, 1970 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 11 TODAY'S CHILD { BY HELEN ALLEN Vil Ch mE a a] TorontoTelegram Syndicate Donald is a handsome boy of Indian and French Cana- dian ancestry. He will be six in the fall, He has sparkling, deep-set brown eyes, black hair and dark skin. Healthy and active, Donald loves the outdoors. He likes playing with the dogs in his foster home and is becoming a baseball enthusiast. Last winter, skating was his favorite sport. Donald loves to have stories read to him and uses his imagination in coloring. This young lad has been in both English and French- speaking foster homes. This may account for the fact that he is not as conversationally fluent as would be expected at his age. He now is in an English setting and progressing well, considered at a near-average level. Donald is affectionate, friendly and likeable and gets on well with children, especially boys. He needs a loving home where the atmosphere is warm and relaxed and where the parents enjoy sharing activities with their children. To inquire about adopting Donald please write to To- day's Child, Department of Social and Family Services. Parliament Buildings, Toronto 182. For general adoption information ask your Children's Aid Society. The writer understands that the local boys scores weren't so hot but at least « Dick Rattray received some measure of notoriety and got quite a write-up in Bill Guys Column in the Lakeheads' News Chronicle. It seems Bill is always picking on us Terrace Bay fellows, but admittedly at times we make good copy. See Dick for the whole story. The Marathon Open is coming up this weekend and it looks as though there will be a good repre- sentation from Terrace Bay at this popular tourna- ment. We again ask al | golfers, Ladies, Men and Juniors to make a little bit more use of the rakes at the sandtraps. It's only common courtesy to rake up after you use the traps. Work is going ahead with the water line as all equipment is now in and ready for installation. The greens are also coming along and it looks as though number eight will be ready for use come the end of August. Roy and Ev painted their cottage and it certainly looks attract- ive. Don Laporte has offered his services to head up a volunteer paint crew to do the club house. So far the trim has been done and we hope to get the rest finished on the exterior at least this month.
