School Reopening Continued 'Rosemary Moores, Karen Olsen, Ernest Solly, Robert Wellwin, "Kenneth Wood, Ronald Wilson, Teaching duties at the Public School will be taken care of by Mr, Smith back as principal and teaching grades 7 & 8. Miss Windle to teach grades 5 and 6, Mr. D. Cairns will take care of grades 4 and 5 with Miss D, Whyte, another newcomer, looking after grades 2 and 3, Mrs, C., Smith will also be back again to teach grade 1, Miss B. The promotion will spread over a four month period commencing September lst as presently planned, The first draws for cartons of Life Savers will be held early in October, based on the safe operation of units throughout the month of September, 0~0=~0 THE FIREMEN'S WAY WHEN KEEP CUT OF THEY RFE WORKING AT i FIRE. 0~0~0 Page 3 Softball - continued from page 1 Rebounding back after their initial sethack at the hands of Shift #1, Struc- tural. won the next three games to become League Champions, * On Thursday night, Structural edged Shift #1 3-2, This was a close fought game and Shift #1 almost pulled the fat out of the fire when they scored 2 runs in the last inning, Adrian allowed only 1 hit in this game and although Whitfield was tagged for 8 hits, these were fairly well spaced, Resuming the series Saturday evening, Structural came out on top by a score of 11-1, Shi?t #1 played very spotty ball committing 9 errors while their opponents were guiltless, Chopty with 3 hits was the big man at bat for Structural while Holancin accounted for Shift #l's only run with a homer, Structural finished the series on Mondey evening with Adrien pitching a 4-0 shutout and allowing only 6 hits, Burella with 2 doubles and a single and Wood with 3 singles supplied the power at the plate for Structural. Holancin walloped 2 singles for Shift #1. Over the four game series Adrian collected 36 strilcouts or an average of 9 per game, His teammates meanwhile commit- ted only 2 errors in 4 games and amassed 37 hits, Congratulations to the Structural nine, You are indeed worthy champions, Shift #1 put up a game battle and we wish them all the best next year. The Executive of the Softball Club and the Recreation Cormittee wish to thank the fans for the fine support accorded softball at Terrace Bay this year, Your contributions helped greatly to defray the expenses of purchasing equipment and pay- ing umpire fees, But above all we appre- cinted your loyal and vociferous attend- ance at the softball games.
