NORTH SHORE BADMINTON LEAGUE PLAYERS DOMINATE L.KEHE.D OPEN Mrs. Wilson of the Lakehend defeated Helen Scott, Terrcce Bay, 11-6, 5-11, 11-2 to teke the Woman's Singles Championship and prevented a clean sweep by the towns of Terrace Bay and Schreiber, Ernie Carswell and Harold Gellert of Schreiber were the top players in the men's events, Hnrold defeated Dick Wilson of the Lokehend for the Men's Singles, Harold and Ernie then teamed up and walked away with the Men's Doubles Championship. Ernie and Helen Dorey of Schreiber won the Mixed Doubles events. Although all of the Terrance entries meade the semi-finals only Dot Delzell and Helen Scott managed to win by taking the Ladies! Doubles Chompionships. It is of interest to note that out of over 60 contestants from the district, the eleven players from Schreiber ~nd Terrace managed to bring back 7 of the 8 trophies. It speaks for itself that the brand of bade minton being played in our North Shore Lecgue compares more than favourably with the surrounding district. The last tournament of the N.S.B.L. series will be played in Terrance on Saturday evening, April 5th. a 4 2 dey open tournament for all clubs participating in the N.S.B.L. will be held in Marathon April 26th and 27th. Entry forms will be availnble soon. 0-0-0 MEN'S BOWLING By taking 3 points from the Overhends, the Combustioneers took over first place in the Men's League, 1 point ghead of the Short Circuits ~nd Schreiber who are tied for 2nd ploee with 10 points each. It would look 28 though the 7 o'clock shift warmed up the nlléys for the late bowlers ns there wasn't on 600 grme bowled by the early shift. Schreiber tokes the honours this week with ao single of 1070 and a triple of 2920 to lend the pack. H. Solly not only toppled them for a 265 single but combined this with 184 and 259 for = total of 708 for high triple. Nice going, boys. Other good scores for the week include E. Gr-bowy 244, M.
