After we bid farewell we set off on a warm spring morning at 6:30 a.m. We enjoyed all the sights along the way and kept in an orderly fashion with the same first to fifth car all the way to Toronto. Our first stop was Wawa where we gassed up. Aft 12:00 we reached Sault Ste. Marie and had lunch at the park. Afterwards we were amused by some of the animals. Other stops along the way were Blind River and Espanola. Early in the evening we reached our destination for the first day. We arrived at Fairbank Lake where we were to stay in Sister Gail's sister's camp and the boys in another camp just down. the path. After the long hot day most of us went for a cool dip and cool it was for we almost froze. After | the swim we had supper which was followed by a singsong. It was then time for bed. We had slept for a while until everyone woke up slapping misquitoes. We all went back to sleep cause Sunday was going to be quite a day. Stay tuned for the second day in the next iss:- | Since she came home she has been visited by Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Perkins, with Steven and Vickie, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Gerow with son Steven, and Mrs. Mar- garet White and daughter Marion, all of Thunder Bay and Mr. and Mrs. Don Sheehan and family, of Hal- ifax on route to Atikokan. Jack and Vi Rigelsford and Mrs. Heather Boon were honored at a farewell party held by the Legion and its ladies auxiliary. On behalf of the Legion Jack Winters presented a purse to Mr. Rigelsford and on behalf of the auxiliary Mrs. Winters presented a mother of pearl pin with the Legion crest to Mrs. Riglesford, who has been auxiliary president. Mrs. Boon, the first vice president, had already been pre: sented with a similar pin. Fred McColeman provided music for dancing for the social evening. HOLY ANGELS GRADUATION EXERCISES The graduation exercises of Holy Angels Separate Schoot this year began with a Folk Mass said by Father J.M. Cano, after which a supper was served in the Parish Centre for the graduates and their par- ents. Following this the group moved on to the school auditorium where the rest of the program was carried out, the evening ending with a dance, nicely balan- ced from the fox trot era to modern numbers. Father Cano addressed the closs briefly, admonish- ing them to follow the precepts and ideals they had been taught, becoming a credit to their parents and teachers and good Christian citizens. Cathy Cocks received the Knights of Columbus award for proficiency Kevin Scott received the Dom- inic Savio trophy for school spirit, Betty Ann Huard and Denis Zborowski the Catholic Women's League for most progressive girl and boy, Toni Tremblay and Michael Jacques an award from Mrs. Paul Deol for the best all round students . Following these awards the grade eight students presented gifts to Sister Gail and Mr. Anthony Spez- iale for the help and encouragement they had given throughout the year.
