Duggan a Chinese auction with unusual prizes. Mrs. Edna Ramsay and Mrs. Mary Hale, of Terrace Bay, were judges for the baby contest, prizes award- ed as follows: Most contented baby, under three months - Nicole Imbeault, least hair, 3 to 6 months - Deborah Bruley; brightest eys 6 to 12 months - Daryl Webb; widest smile, 12 to 18 months - Torya Zborow- ski. Brian Bruley was the birthday baby. The freckle contest was won by Anne Bailey. First prize in the C.G.C's raffle, was won by Evelyn Lark and the second, by Norman Bottomley . Lionel Bourguignon won the hand knitted sweater. Cathy Bottomley was the Queen of the day, with Darlene Guillett and Estelle Chicoine as princesses . Profits from the event will help defray cost of demolishing the Guild Hall, Church Maintenance. BUS TOUR VISITS SCHREIBER Mrs. Norma Fummerton convened the turkey buffet luncheon provided for students on the annual tour to the United Nations, which made a rest halt in Schreiber . There were thirty six students, from Western United States and Canada, selected for the trip on the basis of scholastic endeavour. The event is sponsored annually by the 1.0.0.F. and Rebekah Lodges. This bus will make the return trip via the United States affaording the lively youngsters, all in their early teens, not only the opportunity of meeting each other but also of seeing and learning about each other's country. Favors of scenic cards and pencils were presented to mark the visit to Schreiber. The official welcome was given by Reeve Fred Harness who remarked that Schreiber has but one industry but a million gestures of hospitality. Others at the head table who spoke briefly were Rev. E.C. Prinselaar, J.E. Strokes M.P.P., Paul Nance of Spokane, Wash., the tour director, and Mrs.Nance, Mrs. Sibylla Cranston, of Calgary, assistant tour director, Mrs. Mavis Slater, Warden of the Rebekah Assembly of Ontario, Mrs. Christine Morris, N.G. and Mrs. Beth Macadam, V.G., Mrs. Agnes Bryson, of Ruby Rebekah Lodge, J.D. Phillips and Reeve W.E. Cavanaugh, of Terrace Bay. continued next column TERRACE BAY NEWS JULY 30, 1970. The students introduced themselves, named their home town, its population and chief industry, evok- ing occasionally by some slight exaggeration, good natured jibes and applause. Linda Douglas of Washington formally thanked the local lodges for the meal and the rest provided. Jack Stokes, described the vast riding he repre- sents, its history, its natural resources and future, mentioning also the natural beauty of its many lakes and rivers. Reeve Cavanaugh spoke of the good will between Schreiber and Terrace Bay and reminded students each time they used a Kleenex they should remember the mill in Terrace Bay. Mrs. Bryson welcomed the students at the public school where rest facilities were provided prior to the luncheon. The committee assisting Mrs. Fummerton comprised Mesdames Eirene Harness, Edith Ibey, Alice Sparkes Ileene Williamson, Beth Macadam and Christine Morris. TOWN TOPICS Jeanne McCuaig and her fiance David McKay have returned after visiting David's parents in Niagara Falls. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Doig, of Trenton, are in their camp at Walker Lake where Mr. and Mrs. Jerry McKay of Thunder Bay are visiting them. Mrs. Peter Christie and daughter Laurie of Deep River are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Jack Handel and Mrs. Lilyan Christie. Mrs. Christie also has her daughter Mrs. Judy Dorkins, with Cynthia and Rhonda, of Toronto with her for a holiday. Mrs. Jack Rattray of Sudbury is at her camp at Walker Lake. Andy Bond of Thunder Bay is visiting Mrs. Ernie O'Connor who has come back to live here. Mrs. Helen Sheehan of London, Ontario, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Carmichael of Arnprior, Mrs. Ruby Jaffray of Toronto and Mrs. Kay McArthur of Ottawa visit- ed old friends in town last week. Maureen and Rhonda Campbell of Clarkson are visiting their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Camp bell and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Bolan. Mrs. George Lemieux is visiting her son-in-law Cecil Snyder in Ottawa.
