Harry Bain is home on a visit from Thunder Bay. ~ Mrs. T. Yandon and children have left to join Mr. Yandon at Sparwood, B.C. Mrs. Mildred Price has left for Powassan where she will manage her motel . Miss Leona Goodchild will work at Sunset Lodge, Powassan for the summer. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Eede of Sarnia called on Mr. - and Mrs. C. Todesco enroute to Vancouver B.C. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Bruley and family of Port Arthur spent the weekend at the family cottage here . Mrs. C.W. Todesco has returned from Toronto where she attended the Harris-Douglas wedding . Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Martin of Winnipeg are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Walter Gerow and other relatives here. * PUBLIC SCHOOL PROMOTION LIST Promotion list for Rossport Public School - last one as the school has been closed and the children will be bussed to Schreiber next term. Cash prizes went to the student with the highest standings in each grade. Names are in order of class standing or merit. Kindergarten - Dennis Goodchild, Darcy Bain, Terry Ann Bouchard, Daron Gerow. Grade one - - Narcisse Bain, Francis Goodchild. Grade two - Laura Ray (honours), Vianna Bain. Grade three - Della Mushqush (honours), Bera Goodchild, Lorne Molinski, Wilbur Bain. Grade four - Naomi Yandon (honours), Anita Bouchard (honours), Jacqueline TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 15 Goodchild, Evelyn Schroeder, Anna Bain and Ella Schroeder. Grade five - Cathy Gerow, (honours), ' Wayne Yandon (honours), Alice Bouchard (honours), Kenneth Goodchild and Hilton Mushqush. Grade six Albert Ray. Grade seven - Tommy Bouchard (honours) Leona Goodchild. Alice Bouchard won a prize for perfect spelling all year and perfect attendance prizes went to Alice Bouchard and Jacqueline Goodchild who never missed a day at school the whole year. ANNUAL SCHOOL PICNIC AND SPORTS DAY Mrs. Eugene Gerow, Mrs. L. Molinski and Mrs. Herb Legault assisted Mrs. Price in transporting the pupils to Sand Lake park for the annual school picnic ] on Thursday prior to school closing. Swimming was enjoyed then followed a sports program. Grades one and two competed iin two foot races with Lorne Molinski Ist and Ella Schroeder 2nd. In 1 the second race Lorne Molinski Ist and Wilbur Bain 2nd. Grade three - Ist Anita Bouchard, 2nd Anna Bain Grade four - Ist Alice Bouchard, 2nd Wayne Yandor Grade five and six - Ist Albert Ray, 2nd Tommy Bouchard. Wheelbarrow Race - Ist Albert Ray and Tommy Bouchard, 2nd Anita Bouchard and Cathy Gerow. Leap Frog - Ist Hilton Mushqush and Albert Ray, 2nd Cathy Gerow and Anita Bouchard. Relay Race - 'girls over boys - Ist boys won over | girls. Softball game - the boys defeated the girls seven to four. All prizes were on the point system. A picnic lunch was served. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Briggs of Spokane, Washington, are holidaying with Mr. and Mrs. "Bill Gerow. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Lemonn, Toronto, and Mr. and Mrs. John Skrynski of Islington are visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Alex Furyk. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Williamson and son Wesley of Bettendors, lowa are visiting with Mrs. Bern Jacomb. Mrs. Clare Scott (nee Lorna Holland) of Burlington is visiting her mother Mrs. W. Holland. Mr. and Mrs. Art McPhee of Sudbury are visiting her brother and family Mr. and Mrs. Gary Drake. Mr. and Mrs. S.
