Schelling has been engaged planting trout fingerlings in this vicinity and left this week to plant them in the Marathon area of Lake Superior . The Bailey bridge over the Hewitson River has finally collapsed. The spring freshets and recent rains have swollen the river which undermined the pilings at the west end of the bridge. . +e This is on the original route of the highway. Its collapse has shut off access to several summer homes around the bay. CANCER SOCIETY April the campaign month has gone by, but the fight for Cancer still goes on all year. If anyone has not been canvassed and would like to donate, please phone 825-3241. Thank you. MRS. WRIGHT JOINS FACULTY Mrs. J. Wright recently joined the Schreiber High School faculty and is teaching French in Grades 9, 10, 11 and 12. Born in Toronto, Mrs. Wright received her ele- mentary school education in Chesley and Trenton. Since then, she has lived in Toronto, going through Toronto University on several scholarships. This past year she attended the Ontario College of Education and is a Specialist in French. Mrs. Wright's hobbies are sewing, cooking and reading. She is married to Gordon Wright, who is pre- sently working on his Master's Degree at Toronto University in the field of Geo-Chemistry. Both Mr. and Mrs. Wright are looking forward to their summer in Northwestern Ontario, where Mr. Wright will be doing field work. - NOTICE OF MEETING The Chapter to the Ladies Auxiliary of Pinewood Court will hold a General Meeting May, 7th at 2.30 P.M. in the Town Hall, Schreiber. FUNERAL SERVICES HELD FOR MICHAEL MILLER Mr. Michael Miller, aged 81, of Resource, Saskatchewan, died in Melfort Hospital April 29th, after a brief illness. Funeral services took place on May 2nd. A pioneer farmer of that area, after his retirement, Mr. Miller spent several years as Custodian of the Terrace Bay Post Office and was well known by residents of the town. Mr. Miller is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Helen Gray, Thunder Bay, Mrs. Peggy Wellings and Mrs. Jean Megraw, of Terrace Bay, and Mrs. Birdie Lambden, Delisle, Sask. Five sons, Lewis and Martin, Resource, Sask.; Stanley, Winnipeg; Donald, Montreal; and Phillip, Ottawa. Several grandchildren also survive . The people of Terrace Bay express their sympathy to Peggy and Jean in their loss. ROSSPORT NEWS Ronald Lanigan arrived Friday from Toronto to resume his duties with the Dept. of Lands and Forests. Alphonse Fenton of Fort William has returned to 'work on the Wm. Schelling tug the Clarabelle, for the fishing season. Mrs. Anne Todesco was a business visitor to Thunder Bay last week. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Kenney spent Saturday in Thunder Bay. Andre Nicol of Thunder Bay and a group of friends spent the weekend at his camp on Nicol Island. Adolph King has arrived from Chapleau to pre- pare his boat for cruising this summer. Mr. King is -aretired commercial fisherman out of here, but
