APRIL 30, 1970 BOYD - HELMINK VOWS EXCHANGED On Saturday April 18, 1970 at 3.00 p»m, Deborah Helene June Boyd, daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Samel Boyd Jr. of Terrace Bey was united in marriage to Francis James Joseph Helmink, son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis A, Helmink, in @ ceremony performed by Father A. Gvora: in St. Martin' of Tours Church, Terrace Bay. Lilac and white mums decorated the getin bows adorned the reserved pews. played organ music and altar boys were Mark Dashkewytch. Given in merreige by her Father, the @ white Peau-de-Soie gown in Empire style train. Box pleated nylon lace accented the sleeves, neck and front panels. A floral head-piece anchored her shoulder length veil of scalloped: nylon illusion and she carried Miss Cathy Milnyck Kelly Helmink and bride was lovely in with attached a white Bible and lilac orchid with ribbon streamers adorned! with lileo lily-of-the-valley. The bride's attendants were the Misses Cathy-Jo Cotton (Maid of Honour), sisters Heather and Valerie Boyd and groom's sister lynda Helmink (Bridesmaids), Melanie Boyd (Junior Bridesmaid) and Lisa Helmink, Flower Girl. All attendants wore indentioal gowns of lilac Peau-dée-Soie with empire waist and long sleeves. Their head-pieces were matching bows and the senior attendant carried long stemmed gladielies and the juniors white chrysanthemum nosegays. Best man was Bruce Lundberg and ushers were Roberv Wallwin, Jr., Bryan MoInnis, Brian Gavin and Samuel Boyd IIT A dinner reception was held in the Moose Hall and for the occasion the bride*s mother chose & blue Fortrel ensemble, the dress of which had sheer sleeves and scarf. She wore 4 matohing hat and navy accessories. The groom's mother chose e hot pink two piece Crimpeline outfit, white hat and black accessories. A toast to the bride was proposed by Mr. Reg. and master of ceremonies wes Bruce Lundbert. The bride's Grandmother, Mrs. S. Boyd Sr., assisted the bride and groom as they cut the wedding cake which rested on a Rice Table Cloth and Lilac Chiffon.Gake decorations were sugar bells, white roses, lilac grapes and green leaves. White candles in orystal holders flanked the wed- ding cake. : Leaving for a honey the bride donned a pink and white ensemble with sleeveless coat, and black accessories.
