PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENTS PRESENT PLAY On the afternoons of Thursday, April 16 and Fri- day, April 17 the Grade 5 pupils of Schreiber Public School presented a play "The Cat and the Queen". Their purpose was to help finance a bus trip in their Science and Social Studies projects. The photo above shows the following players:- Mr.Horner - Don Baxter, Two Guards - Mark Tim- merman, Peter Armstrong, The Queen - Betty Ann McKenna, Mr. Hatter - Jamie Hill, Servants - Tina Ellicott, Heather Gemmell, Shirley Yates. The entire programme was selected, produced and directed by Brenda Spencer who played the part of | the Cat. a Donnie May collected and edited material for his characterization of the Court Jester. Sound effects were by Sandra Richardson and Lori Drake. Stage hand was Bruce Hiller. The poem "Someone" was recited by Sandra Rich- ardson. Songs by Terry Birch, Patti Nesbitt, Shirley Yates, Brenda Spencer, Vicki Krause. Guitarist, Lori Drake and Comic Jamie Hill. Price of admission included a small bag of popcorn, freshly popped by Eric Glad and his committee com- prised of Peter Armstrong, Bruce Hiller, Rainer James; packaged by Melvin Madge, Barry Glad, Terri Morris and distributed by John Whitton, Bob Norman, Mike O'Neil, Mac Cole and Robert Le- Blanc. Mrs .George Lemieux, Alex Babeschuk and Mrs. Milton Winters are in Terrace Bay Hospital. . Robert James, R.C.M.P., visited his aunt and BAY NEWS Page 15 uncle, Mr.and Mrs .Harry Jartus, enroute from North Burnaby, B.C., to Oattawa. The following members of the Schreiber Publig School Home and School Association attended a meeting of the Lake Superior Board of Education held in Marathon - Mesdames Ralph Morrill, Gary Drake, John Spillane, Frank Fummerton and Harry Jartus, who presented the brief prepared. Robert Cressman, school principal, accompanied the group. Sanford Chicoine is in Terrace Bay Hospital and Mrs.J.C .Bosley is in Thunder Bay hospital . Ernie Willoughby of Sudbury visited his mother, Mrs .Ernest Willoughby Sr., last week. Mr and! Mrs.Lou Karns were in London to attend the funeral of the latter's father. Don Wilson is in Toronto for medical treatment. Mr.and Mrs. Bill Cocks visited Mr.and Mrs . Bill Cocks in Thunder Bay last weekend and Mr.and Mrs. Gary Drake visited their son Boyd, also in Thunder Bay . Mr.and Mrs. T.C.Relph have the latter's sisters and their husbands visiting them, Mr.and Mrs .Ray Louis and son Tony, Mr.and Mrs. Teles Caissie and son Edmond, all of Clinton, B.C. Ray Pitkanen, Jack Phillips and Lester McCuaig attended the annual meeting of the Progressive Con- servative Association, Thunder Bay Riding, held in Nipigon on April 12th. CATHOLIC GIRLS' CLUB HOLDS TEA Presiding at the tea table at the Catholic Girls' Club candle light tea , on Sunday April 19, were Mrs. G.A. Scott,.Mrs. Bill Cook, Mrs. Ray Sisson and daughter Dale, who is the club president.. The servitors were Linda Huard, Brenda Cebrario, 'Gaetan Chicoine, Patricia McGrath, Ann Needham, Alda Holland, Elma Cenerelli, Darlene Guillet, Susan McParland and Darlene Fummerton. In the kitchen were Loreen Kusik, Chryl Karns, Denise Perras, Tina Cebrario, Cathy McGuire, Mrs. Harry Shack and Mrs. Martyn Ryan. Debbie Cook was cashier. During the evening dance numbers were given by Linda Comeau, Clover Dukes, Linda Kelly, Joyce Cluett, Cathy and Karen Guina, Lola Scott, Cathy Stokes, Anne Marie McGrath, Carol Webb, Donna McGrath and Carol Ferland.
