Bowen. continued page 12... HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY ANNUAL MEETING ~The Terrace Bay Horticultural Society held their annual meet-* ing in the Recreation Centre with a large attendance. A letter of invitation was read by Secretary Hilda Heibert, from Timmins where the 1970 Con- vention will be held on June 19 and 20. Members are urged to attend if at all possible. District Director Norman Harrison suggested that members should consider it an honour and privilege to attend the conven~ tion where they would gain experience and knowledge to make a better Society. Mrs. Shirley Opas reported that 90 members have renewed their memberships . The Flower and vegetable Show date has been set for Aug. 22nd. Preserves and jellies will be added to the list of exhibits. Mr. H.Landry gave a report on the annual show. There will be a runner-up prize added to the list for Grand Aggregate. Mr.John Steen would appre- ciate having members place their orders for fertilizer no later than June Ist.
