_APRIL 16, 1970 SCHREIBER Bownship of Schreiber OFFICE OF CLERK-TREASURER NOTICE RE DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME The Council of the Corporation: of the Township of Schreiber had directed that Daylight Saving Time be observed in the Township of Schreiber for the year 1970, commencing at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 26th and continuing until 2:00 a.m. Sunday, October 25th. Citizens are requested to advance clocks and watches one hour at 2:00 a.m. SUNDAY, APRIL 25th, and revert back to Eastern Standard Time at 2:00 a.m. Sunday, October 25th, 1970. Miss Mary Fink has returned to Eden Valley, Minn. after visiting Harold Shack, when she was the guest of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Shack. The junior hockey grocery hamper draw was won by Mrs. Dudley Cardiff. Alex McCuaig of Toronto spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lester McCuaig. Mrs. Geno Spadoni is in St. Joseph's Hospital, Thunder Bay. Mr..and Mrs. Oscar Laine, formerly of Schreiber, are now making their home in Sault Ste. Marie, 241 Simpson St., and will welcome old friends' visits. Mrs. Lester McCuaig, who does the Chamber of Commerce work for the town office would like to get in contact with people in Schreiber or Terrace Bay, who came here from Czechoslovakia, as she is re- ceiving inquiries from people there intending to visit this area this summer. "EACH ONE BRING ONE" - APRIL THEME The Grace Baptist Church campaign "Marching To Sunday School" in March was most successful, with a high attendance of 45. Members of four of the six classes were presented with Bibles for their efforts: Rosalie Kushnieryk, junior class - 12 points; Karen Kushnieryk, adult class - 4 points; John Dye junior teen - 3 points and Dianne Yates, nursery ~ 1 point. Miss Brenda Yates won the teachers' award - a beautiful Bible and Concordance, with 5 points. The campaign will be carried on with the slogan this month, "Each One Bring One' and a change in the point system. Awards will again be presented. The goal for April is to have fifty in Sunday School on Sunday, April 26th. CONFIRMATION HELD AT HOLY ANGELS His Excellency E.Q. Jennings, Apostolic Admin- istrator of Diocese of Fort William was in Schreiber on April 5th to administer the rite of confirmation. in Holy Angels Roman Catholic Church. Dean J.M. Cano presented seventy-three children including five from Rossport and three adults. The clergy were escorted by an honour guard of Ath degree Knights ot Columbus, St. Edward's Council under the direction of Albert Cadieux. SHOWER-TEA HONOURS BRIDE-ELECT Miss Cathy McLellan, bride-elect of this month, was honored by her friends at a shower tea held in St. John's Church hall on April 5th.
