PAGE 12 TWO-DAY CONFERENCE HELD BY A.A. Delegates from Pittsburgh, Duluth, Dryden, Thunder Bay, Sioux Lookout, Nipigon and Marathon attended the first conference of Alcoholics Anony- mous to be held in Schreiber. Special speakers from Oakville and Winnipeg were here for the two day event on March 20th and 21st. The program began with an open meeting on Friday evening in the High School in Schreiber, followed by a banquet and social evening on Saturday night in the Moose Hall in Terrace Bay and Sunday brunch. Among the local dignitories attending were Reeve Fred Harness of Schreiber, Reeve W.E. Cavanaugh of Terrace Bay, Rev. Dean J.M. Cano, Father Gvora, Rev. Rex L. Dye, Jack Stokes, M.P.P. and Mrs. Stokes. There was an attendance of 150 at the meetings. The object of these conferences is for people to share experiences, their love for one another enab- ling them to achieve sobriety over the years.
