SCHREIBER WOMEN'S INSTITUTE MEETS The members of the Women's Institute wore home- made St. Patrick corsages at their March meeting and answered roll call with prizes for a penny auc- tion, The motto was "One Good Turn Deserves An- other". Mrs. E. Waywell, Mrs. Dwight Marshall and Mrs. Ann Etches were welcomed as guests by Mrs. Joe Campbell who presided. Mrs. Ken Williamson reported sending eighteen cards and receiving several thank you notes. lt was decided to order membership pins to have on hand when required. Mrs. David McLellan's request to rent dishes and coffee urn was granted. Mrs. A. W. Slater reported on the district _ directors' meeting held in the home of Mrs. A. Stamp, Thunder Bay, South. Mrs. Tommy Bolan, Home Economics and Health convener gave a talk on "How Far Money Has Shrunk", comparing the worth of a dollar in former years to the present and also read a paper "Winter is a time for Remembering, " Mrs. Campbell! reminded members to bring a donation to the W.1. cancer cupboard at their April meeting and that the roll at the meeting will be answered by telling a childhood experience on CEA ee EN Soe _ SCHREIBER MAN DIES SUDDENLY MARCH 26,1970 April Fool's Day. Following the meeting a program was enjoyed-with Mrs. Jim Crook singing Galway Bay and members telling Irish stories. Por Lunch was served by Mrs. Fred Harness, Mrs. A. W. Slater and Mrs. Campbell . The funeral of the late Lorenzo Joseph Levigne, whose death occurred suddenly on March 18, was conducted in Holy Angels Roman Catholic Church on March 21st by Very Rev. Dean J.M. Cano. The funeral was under auspices of the Moose Lodge. ; Honorary pall bearers were Herman Comeau, Alex Power, Dudley Cardiff, Brian Webb, Tom Relph and Maurice Ferland. Active bearers were Joe Brown, Leo Gorman, Ray Theriault, Simon Cormier, Henry Pinion and Gérdon Pichor. Interment was in Schreiber cemetery . Mr. Levigne, who was 39 years old, was born in Bathurst, N.B. and lived in Schreiber for the past fourteen years. He is survived by his wife, Adrienne, three sons - Clifford, Allan and Paul, and daughter Linda; his mother, Mrs. Ida Levigne, of Bathurst; five brothers Lionel of Manitouwadge, Reginald of Kirkland Lake Ed of Sudbury, Alvin of Bathurst, and Arthur of Montreal; five sisters, Leona (Mrs. Dan Colangelo), of Toronto, Grace (Mrs. Ed Vino) of British Colum- bia, Corinee (Mrs. George Godin) of Bathurst, Agnes (Mrs. A. Sweeney) of Toronto, and Regina (Mrs. R. White) of Sudbury. He was predeceased by his father in 1955 and br other, Gerard, in 1960. Attending the funeral from out of town, were the following - Mr. and Mrs. Ed Vino, British Colum- bia; Mr. and Mrs. Lionel Levigne, Manitouwadge; Mrs. Dan Colangelo, Toronto; Mr. and Mrs. Geo- rge Godin and Mr. Alvin Levigne of Bathurst; Mr. and Mrs. Reginald Levigne of Kirkland Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Levigne, of Sudbury; Mrs. Regina White, Sudbury; Mrs. Betty St. Germain, Sudbury; Mr. Arthur Levigne, Montreal; Mrs. Agnes Sweeney Toronto; all relatives of the deceased. Mr. and Mrs. Lary Marconi and Mr. and Mrs. Cletus Legacy of Colbalt, and Mr. and Mrs. Norma Legacy of Terrace Bay, relations of Mrs. Levigne; others included Mr. and Mrs. Leo Lepine, Toronto continued page 13
