C.W.L. Meeting - cont'd from page 15 Mrs. Anne Banning, Social and Economic - reported two St. John Ambulance members attended the Kool Kats Snowmachine meet. Mrs. D.H. Brown has volunteered her trained services for the mentally rétarded school. Mrs. Lillian Gagne made fifty visits to sick and shut-ins, Joe Wills, at the Parish Council meeting asked for list of available houses in town for newcomers . Mrs. Irene Borutski, social action, reported license for bingos were not yet available and a new office is being provided for Dr. T. Wykes in the town hall. Rev. Dean Cano, who offered prayers for the meeting spoke on Adam:.and Eve and the Garden of Eden, the punishment by the flood and Evolution. Mrs. Kay Stefurak presided for the meeting. AUDIO-VISUAL WORKSHOP Despite unusually severe road conditions caused by an ice storm, forty five people managed to attend an audio-visual workshop organized by the North- western Regional Library System held in Holy Angels Parish Centre in Schreiber. Purpose of the meeting was to demonstrate equip- ment and material of special interest to community organizations obtainable through local public librar- ies. Several films were shown to indicate the broad range available. Mrs. Peggy Hunt, Audio-visual librarian, explained the services of the Regional Library and described other sources of material . Stan Kerr demonstrated equipment - 8 mm film, 16 mm film, slide and films strips. Assistance was given by John Pierson of Manitou- wadge Public School and Tony Farthing, Regional Consultant from the Regional library. Rev. E.C. Prinselaar of Schreiber also assisted. Due to bad weather, Bruce Johnson and Sandy Burnett of the Thunder Bay office of the National Film Board were unable to attend. The workshop was held in connection with the Regional Library's continuing course for librarians from small libraries in Northwestern Ontario.
