Mr. Bill Megraw and Mr. Mel Nicol were pre- sented with their long service pins _ by the Regional Commissioner of the Northwestern Regional Council, Roland Wills. Bill Megraw receives his 15 years Service Pin. How-# ever , he has given 18 years of valuable service to the Scout movement in Terrace Bay. Mel Nicol has served the Scout movement in Terrace Bay in many capacities, for the last 13 years. The success of the § banquet was due to Mel's excellent organization. Without these two men, the Scout movement would | not have attained its high standing. Mrs. A. Cadieux was present as a representative of the Brownies, Reverend Prinselaar, as area representative of the Boy Scouts of Canada and | Reeve W.E. Cavanaugh was also present. A special vote of thanks was voted to Reeve Cavanaugh and Township Council, for their donation | to provide a sewage system for the Scout Hall . The Scouts and Cubs gave a series of hilarious skits, in which at least two were dedicated to a cont'd page 5 . = GOOD ATTENDANCE AT FATHER & SON BANQUET The Terrace Bay Boy Scout Group held their annual Father and Son Banquet in the basement of St. Martin's Church on Saturday with 140 people in attendance. The dinner commenced with Reverend Husser saying Grace, after which R. Wills gave the Toast to the Queen. A delicious turkey dinner was served by the Catholic Women's League. Paul Belliveau gave a Toast to the Fathers and Ray Belliveau answered the toast. Ronald Lapenskie is to be congratulated, as he earned the honour of receiving the Herman Roberts Memorial Trophy, for being the most improved Scout. during the 1969-70 season. Ralph Regis and Douglas Chisholm also received honourable mention. A special commendation was presented to Kimberly Clark Pulp and Paper Company Ltd., Terrace Bay, by the Boy Scouts of Canada.
