d RO ES PERSE, BOX 375 : TERRACE BAY * Vol. 13. No. 3 the District January 19, 19/0 A new outdoor skating rink has been opened in Terrace Bay, in the Lakeview - Superior area. The idea first came from the Recreation Committee, since there is already a skating rink in the Poplar Crescent - Hudson Drive playground. The area for the rink was cleared by Kimberly Clark Pulp & Paper Co. and the rink was built and _is maintained by residents in that area. The new rink is bigger than that on Poplar Cresc- _ent and the area in which it is situated (on one of our "Terraces"), is, now that it has been cleared, an ideal site for future park and recrea- tional development. At present a toboggan slide is also on the site and, like Poplar Crescent, the rink is floodlit so that it can be used in the evenings. It is indeed a pleasant sight to see children and adults enjoying the facilities at these outdoor rec- reation areas both day time and evenings . : TT iia Er Terr 0 PRIZEWINNER! If prices in Canada go up by an average of only four per cent next year as against this year's probable 4.5 per cent, consumer prices in 1970 will be 22 per cent above those of mid-1965. Half a decade of inflation, in short, will have cut the purchasing power of a dol- lar by more than one-fifth." --Financial Post, August 30, 1969.
