A letter was received from Levitt Safety Co. pertaining to freezing hydrants, this was directed to Fire Chief Vic Thorpe. Pinewood Court requested donations toward the purchase of an organ. The letter was filed. A copy from the Thunder Bay District Health Unit Medical Officer Report was received. Township lawyers advised that they are prepared for the forthcoming Ontario Municipal Board hear- ing regarding apportionment of school costs, and in particular as it effects mining municipalities . The annual Sparkle Contest will be sponsored this year the the Township Hydro Department. COUNCIL QUOTES Before Town Council entered into regular session, Reeve Cavanaugh welcomed two members of the new- ly formed Snowmobile Club, Mr. Carman Brant and Mr. Bill McKie, who came to explain the aims and objectives of their club, and ask Council for any suggestions that would help them. They discussed proposed highways crossings and certain safety measur Tes that would make it a better year for all those in- volved. Entering into town business, it was announced that a new Recreation Director has been hired. He is Mr. G. Dupas who comes to us from Manitouwadge . Correspondence included a letter sent to Mr. F. Anderson and Mr. Jack Brooks, of the Recreation Committee and the Library Board respectively, in- forming them of the social evening to be held on December 3rd, for the Library Board, members of the Recreation Committee and Town Council and their wives and husbands . A committee of area residents in the Lakeview and Superior division requested permission to use the hydrant to flood a skating rink.
