NOVEMBER 13, 1969 RECREATION BRIEFS SKATE EXCHANGE - For those who were unable to take advantage of the skate exchange held last week-end, a second exchange will be held on Sun- day, November 23rd, at 2 p.m. in the Craft Roomsof the Recreation Centre. Skates for sale will be accepted during that time also. May we remind you that the Minor Hockey Association charges a 25¢ handling fee for each pair of skates to be sold. Also, will those persons who presented skates for sale at the first exchange, please check with the ladies in charge of this coming Sunday's exchange for either their money of skates. PUBLIC SKATING- there will be public skating in the arena on the following times during this next week:- Thursday - 2.30 until 5.00 p.m.; Friday - 8.00 - 10.00 p.m.; Saturday - 8.00 - 10.00 p.m.; Sunday 2.00 - 5.00 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m.; Monday - 1.30 to 3.30 p.m.; Tuesday 2.30 - 5.00 p.m. and Wed - nesday - 1.30 - 3.30 p.m. COMING EVENTS Sunday, November 23rd - Skate Exchange, Craft Room of Recreation Centre - 2p.m. Sunday, November 30th, - Slides by Father Gvora St. Martin's Church basement. 8 p.m. ADULTS ONLY. PLANS TO FORM NEW CURLING CLUB LEAGUE In addition to the regular men's league, we are initiating a new group this year called "The Men's Urban League". The objective of the league is to mix experienced curlers iwth new curlers in such a way as to make all teams as evenly matched as poss- ible. The league teams will curl one night per week only. In this way those who cannot curl more than one game per week will also have a league in which they can curl. The-membership in this league will be allowed full club privileges, and also may spare in the men's and mixe# leagues. The league will be very benificial to the new curlers too. PSYCHIATRIC HOSPITAL APPOINTEE Mr. Milton J. Fisher, Hospital Administrator, Lakehead Psychiatric Hospital, is pleased to annou ce the appointment of Mr. Thomas H. Zador as Chief Social Worker. Mr. Zador acquired his education in various countries of Europe and his post-graduate training at the University of Toronto. Over a period of twelve years he gained a range of experience in working with social service organizations speciali- zing in a variety of human problems. In his new position his duties will entail the plan ning, organization and direction of the Social Ser- vice programme in accordance with the specific need needs of the patients and their families.
