TOWN TOPICS REMEMBRANCE DAY SERVICES OBSERVED Remembrance Day Services were observed on Sat- urday morning, November 8th, when the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 223, Terrace Bay, led the services at the Cenotaph, to honour the Fallen of Two World Wars . Leading off from the Recreation Centre at 10:45 were members of the Royal Canadian Legion, the Navy League of Canada, the Sea Cadet Band, Brow- nies, Guides, Cubs and Scouts. Led by Parade Marshal Alphonse Theriault, the parade made it's way to the Cenotaph where Father A. Gvora gave the invocation, followed' by two min- utes silence. Trumpeter Bert Lohr sounded the Last Post. EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURGH Rev. F. Tews 2nd and 4th Sunday Worship Service at 7 peme ONTARIO HYDRO SPONSORS COOKING SCHOOL The Ontario Hydro, with the co-operation of Mr. W. Pirie, local Area Supervisor, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Community Church, present- ed a Cooking School and the use of small appliances in the Terrace Bay High School . Miss Cathy Warren, Home Economist, used a* Hawaiian theme, as she demonstrated the use of el- ectric appliances such as an electric knife, can-. ~ opener, fry-pan, deep fat fryer, blender and small mixer . Reeve Cavanaugh introduced Miss Warren. Appetites were whetted as the delicious odours of Chicken Waikiki and Kon Tiki Rice wafted from the platform. Using the blender, Miss Warren introduced a cold Cucumber Soup, and a dessert, Tropical Dream. Door prizes, donated by the local Hydro office were drawn first by Mrs. W.E. Cavanaugh, the lucky winner of the electric knife being Mrs. W. Vezina. Mrs. W. Pirie drew for the second prize,-a beautiful Teflon electric fry-pan. The winner was Mrs. R. Kragero, of Schreiber. Mrs. J. Heenan won the food voucher donated by Costa's Foodateria and Mrs. lan Hall won \ the . voucher from Caccamo's.
