This mean that for the first time the citizens of Marathon will ask to. elect a Reeve and Councillors from among them- selves to handle Municipal Affairs. Marathon 'is five or six yearse older than Terrace Bay and Red Rock has existed for many more years. The latter township suffered re- verses in economy when their one industry went bankrupt about 25 or 30 years ago but was rejuvenated when the mill was re-opened. ONTARIO'S HUNTING SEASON The Catario Provincial Police again solicit the co-operation of all hunters and suggest that observa- tion of and adherence to the following guidelines will produce a more enjoyable season for all concerned. 1) Place sufficient emphasis on safety with respect to firearms, water craft,and motor vehicles 2) Dress properly for bush travel . 3) Basic first aid equipment is an absolute essential . 4) Acquaint someone with your proposed hunting area and estimated time of return. 5) Exhibit respect with other person's property. 6) Hunters under the age of 16 years must possess a permit in Form "C303" issued under the provisions of the Criminal Code of Canada. cont'd page 13 ....
