Vol. 12 No. 27 COUNCIL QUOTES Terrace Bay Town Council met in a short meeting on Friday afternoon. Reeve Cavanaugh was in the chair with Councillors, Bray, Caccamo and Farrell present. In a report supmitted to the Kimberly-Clark plant engineer, from Howard Solly, it was indicated that there is a serious problem of persons breaking clay pipes in the Sewage Disposal bed, and a rec- ommendation was made to fence off the area, and re- place the pipes with sturdier material . Jack Caccamo had checked the parking areas on the west side of Selkirk, and will make a recommen- dation. The school patrol wrote thanking Council! for the swimming party and hot dogs which followed, which had been sponsored by the local Police Force, as a way of saying thank you to the School Patrol for their services over the past year. Results of a meeting of the Board of Arbitrators dealing with appointment of costs for the various municipalities in the Lake Superior Division were presented to Council, the effect of which meant the majority of arbitrators felt that due to a lack of mining assessment or equalized mining revenue pay- ment not being considered, in case of one municipal- ity, it was their decision not to agree with the ap- portionments as submitted by the Lake Superior Divis- ional Board Administrator . The Recreation Committee advised that a fourth caretaker had been placed on permanent staff. Lakehead University sent a receipt for the recent donation Council made. TRENT DESAULNIER JUNIOR GOLF CHAMP Fourteen enthusiastic (and excellent) junior male golfers turned out on Sunday to take part in the annual Jr. Golf Club Championship play. The scores turned in by these young chaps are the envy of many of the senior golfers. : Trent Desaulnier won the trophy with an 82 and pacing him all the way was runner up Ken Hanley with an 85. Louis Tneriault headed the fifteen years and over age group category and again Ken Hanley won his division - 14 years and under. In the fifteen and over group Reid Boutilier won Low Gross prize and Jig Corrigan got Low Net. Low Gross prize in tne fourteen and under went to David Adamo with low net going to Bevin Schritt.
