The Grade 8 students were guests of the Catholic Women's League in the Church Hall . The Breakfast opened with the singing of O Canada followed by Grace by Father Gvora. Mrs. Gy Ramsay, chairman, introduced the guests. Mrs. F. Helmink brought greetings from the School board. Presentation of Awards then took place. Mr. Michael Anderson, Principal, presented the St. Martin's School Proficiency Award to Chris Stewart. The Soughton Proficiency Award was given to Chris Stewart, by Mrs. L. Williams. Mrs. J. Mercier, on behalf of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 223, presented the Legion Award to David Ramsay. Catholic Women's League Awards for Catholic girls'and boy Deportment was given to Celine Landry and Mark Dashkewytch, by Mrs. W. Corrigan. The Knight's of Columbus Award was presented to Beverley Legault, by Mrs. Rolly Sinotte. Brother Mara was a dynamic speaker, and held the interest of the Grade 8's and their parents till the last word was spoken. Patrick Heenan thanked Brother Mara, on behalf of the assembly. Father Gvora gave the final Grace.
