PAGE 12 SCHREIBER ANNUAL DINNER HELD BY C.G.C. The Schreiber Catholic Girl's Club held their annual dinner in the Guild Hall attended by over 50. Brenda Lalonde was MC for the event. Grace was said by Dale Sisson and the toast to the Queen given by Marilyn Cook. Sister St. Timothy, principal of Holy Angel's school, was guest speaker, her topic "Vocations." Birthday greetings were sung to Beth Ross and Carol Webb. Leader Mrs. Mary Shack, presented farewell gifts to Lenore, Maureen, and Laura Campbell, on behalf of the Club and with their good wishes for happiness in their new home. Sandra Ross, Colleen Maclsaac; and Linda Power who have reached the age of 18 and must leave the club, were also presented with gifts. Mrs. Betty Ryan, leader, made the presentation. Gifts of appreciation were presented on behalf of the Club by Mary Speziale to leaders Mrs. Shack, | Mrs. Ryan and Mrs. Peggy Small. Following the dinner Sister St. Timothy played a tape received-from Harold Shack who is on leave of absence from Holy Angel's for the past year has been doing lay missionary work in Nassau. He spoke of the poor with whom he works and de- scribed conditions there. Brenda Lalonde thanked the ladies who prepared the meal - Mesdames John Power, Giovanni Cebrar- io, Yvon Beauparlant, John Ribout, J.G. In photo below - Colleen Maclsaac, Mrs. Betty Ryan Sandra Ross and Linda Power. 8TH ANNUAL CUBOREE One hundred and twenty-two boys from Manitou- wadge, Marathon, Terrace Bay and Schreiber com- peted in the 8th Annual Cuboree of the Pic River District held in Schreiber. On arrival the four packs assembled at the Public School grounds for lunch and the Cuboree got under way at 1 p.m. with a parade to the High School grounds and the opening Grand Howl. Games started at 1.30 with mixed teams compet- | ing in the 16 events, and continued until 3.30 when | = results were announced and awards presented by { District Commissioner R.W. Wills.
