He showed a film "The Trails of the Translator". In some languages one word might have seven different tones, each meaning an entirely dif- ferent thing. In many cases an interpreter needs to live with the people to learn their language and develop a method for printing it. The Bible Societies of the world are now producing] -- the Scriptures in nearly 1,400 languages and dialects for use in 150 countries around the globe. All peopl¢ regardless of denomination in the Christain Church, are dependent on the Bible Society for their scrip- tures, especially in the overseas field. Mr. Beattie was presented with a cheque for $350. from the C.G.1.T. Walkathon. He said everyone who participated is to be congratulated, walkers, sponsors, the organizers: and any other persons who participated. It was a fine achievement.
