These matters were settled with warnings being issued. A complaint was cacnenigctad concerning theft of t several small articles of a religious nature from St. John's Anglican Church, Schreiber. This occurrence took place between May 15 and May 18. Any persons with information are asked to contact the Schreiber O.P.P. Office. A missing and wanted person was apprehended in thi this area and returned to authorities at White River, Ontario. ROSS PORT The first yacht of the season was in the harbour this week, the Caroljean 2nd, from Dollar Bay, Hancock Michigan, Alfred Ray has left for Nipigon to visit relatives. Pilot Charles Davis brought a couple of scientists to the village Saturday who are making a bird survey in the area, especially the eagles as the bird popu- lation is appearing to be diminishing in this area and they hope to be able to determine the reason for this decrease in numbers. Mrs. Chas Todesco has returned from Beardmore . The Area School Superintendent J. Lowcock of Port Arthur called at the schoo! Wendinesday . of alcohol operating a car between Terrace Bay and Schreiber, Highway 17, was made the subject of investigation. The driver was apprehended and -charged with driving while his ability was impaired. This case has been remanded to June 3, 1969 at Schreiber Provincial Court. Several complaints of false telephone reports of fire were received from the local Fire Department. These matters are still under investigation. A total of ten charges were laid against motorists for various driving infractions, in addition there were seven motorists given warnings. Members of the Detachment patrolled 3,748 miles of highway and investigated 3 motor vehicle accidents with property damage approximately $1000.00.Injuries were sustain ed in one accident, requiring one person being hos- pitalized. Initial cause of the accident was a Moose on the roadway. SCHREIBER DETACHMENT O.P.P.
