APRIL 17, 1969 Dear Brother Mara, ; Words cannot express the impression you left upon,us, last Tuesday , when you gave us your talk on your love of al! people. Your selection of stories was well covered. One of the incidents which stood out in our minds was the fable of tne old Chinese man, who died and requested to observe hell, to see what he was mis- sing. In hell, he saw a banquet table. Everyone was grumbling, because on the table were many delacacies which could not be eaten because they had chopsticks that were four feet long. When he had had enough, he asked to leave and was taken to heaven. The same scene was presented in heaven, only the people were happy because they were feeding each other instead of thinking of themselves. lt made us realize that we can't get along without each other and we should love one Ganon. This story, like the numerous others made us aware of the many troubles in our world. This letter is a token of appreciation to Brother:Mara who took time out to come to Schreiber and speak to us. One thing we have to say, before we end this letter, is what Brother Mara reminded us to pass on to other teenagers. If ever a teenager is in trouble between the hours of midnight and one a.m. there is a nun who is praying for you. Yours Truly, Grade 7 and 8. Holy Angel's School eee Dear Brother Mara, It was a great pleasure to have you into our room to present the class with such an enlightening talk. We were especially impressed with your first-hand accounts concerning your attempts to help underprivileged people throughout the world. Hearing the story of the Chinese family having only water for their meal made us grateful for what we have. We would like to have you return and tell us the stories that you left in your suit. Gratefully yours, The Grade 7 and 8,classes of St. Martin's. deters ek white! -- ents listen to ° Phote ton rieht --is 'r. John Small, teacher of Grede 6. He is very good teacher.
