SCHREIBER WEEK'S HOLIDAY I N SCHREIBER Snow trail enthusiasts from Hayward, Wisc. were in Schrei- ber recently on «heir annual visit. Nine couples participated. The week's holiday was spent from early morning until dusk in the bush, riding over old trails and exploring new ones. As in past years, the trip was thoroughly enjoyable. R. A. (Dick) Warder, who spent much of his boyhood in the Schreiber area and his wife, Arlene are organizers of the winter holiday. Mr.and Mrs. Dick Jerder This year, two couples from Schreiber Kool Kats, Norman and Ruth Bottomley and Neil and Ethel Nesbitt planned and piloted-the party on different routes. (Bill) Hawke were honoured on several occasions and presented with gifts before leaving for Montreal where he is General Supervis- or of Micro Service. On behalf of his associates in the C.P.R.office Mr.Koehn presented a hand- some card table and chair sef to Bill, also a paint- ing of a local scene. The Catholic Girls' Club re- ported they will sell shamrocks prior to St. Patrick's Day and that plans for a skating party and socia! are being made. Mrs. Ann Banning, spiritual eonvener, reported Women's World Dav of Prayer services held in Catholic Church were well attended and an interesting program offered. Mrs. Irene Borutski reported on local affairs and pointed out Aurel Major and Frank Mac- Donald had been appointed to rink committee by Town Coun- cil. Council has agreed through recreation committee to sponsor girls' ballet classes, she said. | Mrs. Harry Shack described 'her recent trip to Nassau and expressed the appreciation of her son, a missionary, Harold Shack for the assistance given by CWL. Following the meeting con- ducted by Mrs. Kay Stefurak, Allan LeBlanc showed slides of a trip to California which he and other students had made with Jean Paul Tessier of the hign school staff at Christmas. The Schreiber Kinsmen are holding an Easter Bingo in the town hall om March 31.
