The hostess served LEGION LADIES PLAN AFFAIRS Mrs. A.C.Rigelsford presided for the March meet- ing of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 109 when Mrs.Gretchen Smith re- ported twenty-three members paid up to date. A cabaret party was planned for March 17 and an appeal was made for more workers during the Sotur- day afternoon snack bar and for social nights. Mrs. Chris Dunham was installed as Warden and Mrs. Pat Moore as her assistant. A social evening was planned for March 23rd. Mrs .Lillian Christie thanked members for their kindness during her illness and Mrs. Iris Lidkea re- ported for the Sick and Visiting Committee. HAT SHOW Ninety six hats were shown at the annual Spring Show of the St. John Anglican Church Restoration group on March 7th. The models ere Mesdames Harriet McBride, Rita Bennitz, Ella Spikula, Brenda Harper, Jackie Turner, Colleen Glad, and Mary Goodmurphy . Mrs. D.Q. Hamilton was commentator and Mrs. Jack Winters convener for the millinery. Mrs. Jack Bryson sold the accessories offered and Mrs. Ken. Williamson was make-up artist with Mrs . David Harrison cashier . Assisting with the hall decorating and in serving tea throughout the show were Mesdames Doug May, Reg Bailey, Bob Ellicotte, Ruth Rigelsford, Doug Moore, and Bill Collinson. The door prize was won by Mrs. Con Duggan. The hats of many fabrics were mostly highcrowned, some with narrow brims and others with the dipped brim. The ever-popular Breton sailor was shown as attractive 'packable' hats for travelling. Grosgrain TERRACE pases were favourite tam styles for the younger set and most MARCH 20, 1969 ribbon with flyaway ends was used to band many models. Fune of the evening was extemporaneous speeches, each man present recalling some incident in Bill's Schreiber service. The Official Board of St.Andrew's United Church presented hime with an attache case and Mrs. Hawke with a handbag, in appreciation of their interest in church affairs. Mrs. Hawke was also entertained by a group of friends at a party in the home of Mrs. Doug Bennitz, when a set of casseroles was given to her. Daughters Susan and Marilyn will complete their school year in Schreiber but are spending their holi- day week at their new home.
