During the afternoon and evening, coffee was served to parents by the P.T.A. while they waited for their interviews. This was especially appreciated in view of the fact that weather conditions were inclementon, Tueday. Both parents and teachers gained much from this experince and all concerned felt that it had 'been a very worthwhile effort. erm: . eee Congratulations go out to Beth Ross (as shown in photo at bottom left) a grade eight student of Holy Angels School who won first prize in the District Elementary School, Public Speaking Contest. The = A A AP AR () OAD other contestants were Mary Anne Pineau, from Red' Rock Separate School; from Red Rock Public School ye was George Sittlinger. Beverly Legault, represented St. Martin's School, Terrace Bay and Bevin Schritt represented Terrace Bay Public School. The Contest was held at Schreiber High School, Wednesday Feb. 12th at 8 p.m. Holy Angels School held a Liturgical Celebration (see centre photo) of the Mass in the Grade Seven classroom,' as a culmination of a three week study of the Mass. Rev. Dean Cano officiated and each of the students played an active role. Rose Speziale read the Word of God in the form of the Epistle. An offering of money, saved over the past weeks, was made by Randy Bolan. This money has been forwarded to Mr. Shack in Nassau, for the Leper Colony on that Island. Student Teachers from the Lakehead Teachers College spent a week at Holy Angels. They spent many busy hours in preparation and then rewarding hours in classrooms followed. Pictured in photo at bottom far right is Mr. G. Cox end Mr. L Romito (left photo top of page 9) teaching the grade seven' class. Miss E. Forsyack (centre photo on page 9) and Miss M. Lamanes (far right) teach grade five. Mr. D. Pellegrino helps a grade three pupil over the hurdle (left photo, middle page 9) while Mrs. M. Smith (right photo) help some grade one pupils doing balance exercises. All the student teachers had a successful week and we enjoyed their company.
