He thanked the Board of Stewards and the Committee of Elders for their support, and hoped that the new year would bring to fruition, all the plans and projects that they have set as their goal. He congratulated the Ladies Auxiliary for their fund raising abilities, as well as their charitable works they have performed. The Church Choir, directed by Bert Lohr, with Mrs. Ellen Hodgkiss at the organ, also came in for high praise, because they have banded together again and add so much with their Ministry of Music. Elected to the Board of Stewards for a three year term were Ed Kennedy and Peter Vanderkam. Re- elected to the Committee of Elders, for an interim time, until the proposed amalgamation of the two boards takes place, were Fred Gould and Bob Harris. Mr. Husser closed with a Prayer. The meeting was adjourned and a deli cious lunch was served by Mrs. Slomke and her committee. S$. KOLESAR HEADS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE IN TERRACE BAY The annual meeting of the Terrace Bay Chamber of Commerce was held on January 18th. The event took the form of a Breakfast meeting held in the Voyageur Restaurant. The new slate of officers for the coming year are: President - S. Kolesar; Vice-President- Oswald Fink; Directors - R. Bray, J. Kelty, T. Scott, W. Scheuchenpflug, R. Sinotte, Mrs. |. Marsh, D. Des- rosiers and T. Costa. This Friday at 4.15 p.m., the Schreiber High Schoo School girls play the Terrace High School girls' basketball team in the Terrace Bay Auditorium. The Schreiber boys play the Terrace boys' basketball team | ~ at 5.30 p.m. the same evening in Terrace Bay. Thus } -- far the Terrace Bay girls team has not lost a game this year, and we understand they are playing some very exciting basketball. This is oné of a series of games and is the last game of the hame series for Terrace Bay. However, if our teams make the play- offs, and we hope they do, then we will see further games in Terrace Bay. They have a lot going for them as far as ability and enthusiasm is concerned, but they seem to be lacking sadly in fan support. If you are interested in watching two exciting basketball games plan to attend this Friday starting at {4 p.m. There is no admission charge - pop will be for sale for those who re- quire refreshments.
