JANUARY 16, 1969 vy "THE OWL'S HOOT" Meet Your Teacher Mrs. Mulligan is Assistant Principal at Schreiber High School and teaches Mathema- tics throughout the grades. She was born in Chapleau, Ontario and received her ele- mentary and secondary training in Schreiber. She attended Western University in London, Ontario, where she graduated with a B. A. in Mathematics. Prior to. teaching in Schreiber she taught at St. Patrick's High School in Fort William. Throughout the past seven years, Mrs. Mulligan has been well-liked by the students and we hope she will remain here for many years to come. Schreiber Sweeps Geraldton - Basketball Schreiber High's senior boys and girls defeated Geraldton in four action filled games here on Friday ; the tenth and Saturday, the eleventh. Referees were Mr. Chyril, Albert Costa and Mr. Guerard. In the first game, our girls defeated Geraldton girls by a score of 25 - 12. The star scorers were Mary Speziale (8 points), and Nancy Lapenskie. (7 points). On the Geraldton team Marlene Hildebrand (4 points) and Judy Geldbruegge (3 points) played TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 11 a very good game. ty The second game, played between the boys, also resulted in a victory for Schreiber with a score of # 53 - 23. Top scorers were Wayne Tremblay (14 points and Greg Morrill (13 points). Mickey Groulx (9 points) and Roy Karlstedt (6 points) were the highest scorers for Geraldton. Early Saturday morning our girls' team was still going strong. They won by a wide margin of 26 - 8. Top scorers of this game were Judy McParland (6 points) and Nancy Lapenskie and Mary Speziale (both with 5 points). For Geraldton they were Judy Feld- bruegge (4 points) and Terry-Lee Neill and Sandra Cruse (both 2 points). : In the final game of the competition, our Hawks played a very good game and won their victory by a score of 46 - 37. Greg Morrill (15 points) and Wayne} Tremblay (10 points) were once again the heroes of the game. For Geraldton David Feldbruegge (10 points) and Simon Peet (10 points) played very well. A good turn out of supporters for all games enthus- iastically shared in our victories. Both teams played skilful games and we are especially proud of our Golden Hawks and our girls' team for their excellent sportmanship and admirable ability. Members of the detach- ment patrolled 1,958 miles of highways and logged 144 houire pee There was one charge laid under the Highway Traffic Act, four per- sons were warned and 8 vehicles were given safety checks. 3 minor disturbances were investigated, one liquor seizure with charge laid under the Liquor Control Act, one break, enter and theft reported, still being investigated, break, enter and theft of Schr- eiber Town Hall still' under investigation. --
