This will give parents peace of mind to know ~ shat their children respon so well, and that the staff of the Roxy Theatre are on their toes. Reeve Cavanaugh and all four Councillors were on hand for the regular méeting held Tuesday evening - Minutes were read and adopted. Business arising from the minutes, stated that John Mikus would get date on proposed pump for townsite use. A social evening for appointed members of the Library Board ~ and the Recreation Committee will be held December 3rd. The Bowling Alleys are open Sunday evenings at 8 o'clock. Correspondence included a letter from H.E.P.C. that there will be a general increase in cost of power to local utilities. In Terrace Bay's case, the increase is approximately 4.7%. At the present time, it appears as though the rate to Terrace Bay Hydro cus- tomers will remain unchanged, for at least another year, at which time a closer look at the financial position of the Utilities will be taken. A letter from the Crown Attorney advises that the duties as local selectors of jurors of Terrace Bay have been performed, and reports in the proper form filed with Clerk of the People. A letter from the Honourable John Yuremko advised that the members of the Board of Management of the District Home for the Aged, whose term expired dur- ing 1968, were re-appointed. There will be vacan- cies in 1969, at which time the nominee from Terrace Bay will again be considered. Capacity of the large meet- ing room in the Recreation Centre was taxed to the limit and many stood on back in the hall until the deadline at 8.30 p.m., when Township Clerk W. Hanley declared nominations closed. Representatives and nominees from Manitouwadge and Schreiber were out in numbers and names appear- ed up on the board at a brisk pace, almost until the deadline. Electors can choose, on December 2nd, one Reeve from nominees W. Adamo, W.E. Cavanaugh, P. Romanuk, and R. Sinotte. Four councillors are to be elected from the following slate - Alfred Allen, W. Roy Bray, J.E. Caccamo, D. Desrosiers and W. J. Farrell. \ Elected by acclamation to the Schreiber-Terrace Bay combined R.C.. Separate School Board are Mrs . Marion Bouchard, Mrs. Margaret Helmink and Messrs M. Nicol, G. Ramsay and F. Secheskey and to the Lake Superior Divisional Board of Educa- tion by Public School Supporters - A. Chisholm and T. 'The hottest race in the district will develop as nine candidates (three from each town, Manitou- wadge, Schreiber and Terrace Bay) seek a place -as Separate School representatives on the Lake Superior Divisional Board.
